Last October was horrible as buyer and seller. Packages taking 20 days to travel 90 miles. Packages sitting in Philadelphia for 2 weeks. Starting to see this again...packages sitting. Shipping status not updating.
Anyone else getting concerned with recent USPS tracking times? I am!!!

It never left. I had a shipment sit in NJ for a month. Took a total of 2 months to go from NY to CO. Others sent in NY to another NY address have been 3 weeks and still not arrived. It can't slow down anymore. Shipping by ground global years ago when that was still possible was quicker.

Yep, Im watching a guitar I bought sit in NJ..."Processed through" a few days ago...not expecting it anytime soon.

"Anyone else getting concerned with recent USPS tracking times? I am!!!"
I ordered a package from Missouri on Sept 17 and I am still waiting for it.
The item was a 1,000 miles away, not some place in China.
The seller should have offered an optional faster shipping method.
This seller is going to be hearing from me, free shipping is useless if
you do not get the item before you're dead.

Wasn't there an announcement earlier from the USPS that we could expect this to happen?
Would it help to add a day or two to your handling time?

These problems generally aren't a matter of a day or two...and handling is pre-shipping...

Interestingly. One seller shipped me some stuff from Los Angeles..and it arrived very quickly. But I think seller bought postage at the PO...not on eBay (no tracking).
But the package shipped the day before from New York...still sitting in NJ...or something.

Not a problem and I ship almost daily all classes of service with the USPS. The only ones I am having extreme problems with now are FedEx. Possibly you should review how you are labeling or packaging. Make your packages visible. I use fluorescent FRAGILE, DO NOT BEND, etc labels.

No unusual problems noted.
Ship mostly 1st Class.
Many items coast-to-coast, and in between with 3-4 day deliveries.
Have just 1 that is still in transit that took 5 days between between "regional" facilities, and seems to have gone in the wrong direction. Needless to say it is late, but just by days, not weeks/months.

As I said...I see this as BUYER and SELLER...although mostly buyer...I don't really track my shipments. But - I occasionally get an inquiry about slow shipping.

It may depend on the particular mail center. Richmond/Sandston VA is notorious for delays, especially on incoming more so than outbound for other mail centers. I use a small rural PO. It is not unusual for a package to 'process through' on a Thursday, and not be at the PO until the following Tuesday, just for example. Maybe 20% are timely.

I definitely notice some are worse than others. Glen Burnie MD...yikes! Philly is either good - or horrible.
Harrisburg is very good - and 45 minutes from me.
Usually when something hits Harrisburg before 2AM, it will be in my mailbox that afternoon.

Certainly haven't noticed anything yet. I shipped four packages on the 13th (one First Class, three Priority) and all four of them have already been delivered.

We're not a "Code Red" yet, but I have noticed some packages taking a few days longer. Once October starts , I know it's a pain in the butt, but I make sure all my packages are scanned in at the counter of the USPS. Any items over $75 I get the Ebay insurance. Any items over $100 I send UPS ground. I continue this until after Christmas. Price of doing business. Hope that helps.
