International Shipping confusion

I was just to look this up myself. But I have a buyer asking if I can ship a card to Australia. I'd like to do the shipping to the ebay hub. But I don't see the option. I read that everybody is opted into this program. But I don't think I am. Do I have to  add a international shipping option to my shipping policy? I don't want to ship directly to the buyer. But the international hub. What am I doing wrong?

Re: International Shipping confusion

Hi @krazy_kollections . While @cmmjmv54 's info is correct for sellers eligible, because you're a newer seller you may not be eligible. If you follow those instructions and do not see eBay International Shipping at the top of the shipping preferences page, that's because you haven't been invited to join the program yet.

Nothing you can do about that as it's triggered automatically once your account meets eBay's requirements. Published requirements are vague so you can't track when you'll get there, only wait for the notice that your account is being opted in. Some of the criteria are related to sales volume and seller performance, and I'm sure there are unpublished criteria relating to category and other types of risk assessment.

Re: International Shipping confusion

Just go to "Orders" and scroll down until you see Shipping Preferences under SETTINGS on the very left side. Once there it should tell you if you are enrolled or not and give you options to opt out or in.

Re: International Shipping confusion

Thank both of you for the response. I don't have the option. So I'm not there yet. Hopefully one day.

Re: International Shipping confusion

Pirateship offers the same service. I used that to ship to Australia since ebay didn't offer that to me either. It was over 13 dollars cheaper than what the price was on ebay. If you do use pirateship, you have to request them to turn it on for your account. It's free. It's called simple export rate.

Re: International Shipping confusion

It's not the same service as it does not come with seller protections, returns and all that. It's the same as shipping direct where the seller is responsible end-to-end and the seller still has to fill out customs paperwork, know what they can/can't ship, etc. The original poster already said they're not comfortable shipping direct.
