Inaccurate Tracking

The last two items purchased were shipped out in small Ebay shipping envelopes. Checked tracking and it shows delivered two days ago......WHAT! Received nothing despite the tracking info saying the items were left on my front porch near my door. Went to the post office and they say they can't help as they do not have anything to do with Ebay tracking. GREAT! Well two days later, they both turn up in the regular mail. What is up with this crappy bay tracking sutuation. Clearly, there is a disconnect but what is worse, they are sending out totally erroneous information leading a buyer to believe the item was lost or stolen. This has to be corrected. Ebay, are you listening?? Your tracking system is worthless as its set up today!!

Re: Inaccurate Tracking

The eBay Standard Envelope is not "tracked "by USPS in the same manner as regular USPS Tracking -- it is tracked as a metered envelope.  Thus, when the eBay Standard Envelope reaches the post office of  the ZIP code on the envelope, USPS marks it as "delivered" -- but not "delivered" to the buyer's home address.

The only way to provide delivery confirmation to the buyer's home address, is USPS Tracking, which is not available to USPS First Class mail under 16 ounces.
