Inaccurate Statement In Listing

Short version, (US based) corporate seller made inaccurate claims in listing.  States electronic item can be used with WiFi networking and does not require a hub.  Instructions then state to download a program to use the item.  That program requires the use of an offsite server account, aka a hub.  Seller agreed to return but want to charge return shipping and restocking fee.  I don't agree to that.

Not sure what happens next here on the return console.  If they continue to give me trouble, then what?

Checkout was using a CC via PP without logging in to PP.  What happens there if there is no agreement here?

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.

Re: Inaccurate Statement In Listing

If you filed an NAD return and the seller is refusing to provide a return label, at some point you can ask ebay to step in and decide the case.

If the case is decided against you, your next and only recourse would be to dispute the charge with your CC.

(And to edit:  if you paid through PP w/ a CC, then you can open a case with them.  If you paid through ebay with a CC outside of PP, your only recourse would be with your CC after ebay).

A "offsite server" is NOT a "hub", but it really doesn't matter. Just open a SNAD (you'll be lying IMO, but thats up to you). It sounds like you purchased a IP Cam, am I close? Many of them require a 3rd party server (which I don't recommend), all you can do is your due diligence. Many 3rd part servers collect data on users (IP thermostats, IP cameras, etc.). I would use the seller return privileges and pay the restocking and return shipping, but thats me.

Which is exactly why I don't want to use an offsite hub.  I have no idea what information is gathered or how it might be used.

Not a camera, but a remote control device.  I should not have to use any hub onsite or off.  I should be able to do it direct from a PC which I though this device would do based on how the listing was worded.

Problem is, I think I goofed in a step.  I printed the Return Service label without seeing the message in the return console stating the fees.  That message also said there should be a Reply button, but there isn't one.  I don't know if it was deactivated when I printed the label or not.

Now I don't see a way to escalate the claim at this point, but there are a few days left, so maybe it will appear later.
