on 12/16/24 I sent out a package I then get an email stating demisions were inaccurated and got charged 1.50$ I have to admit that I was a bit off but not by that much
the real problem was I got hit again with a 9.75 charge stating the service on label didnt match the service used but I had selected ground advantage postage and thats what I used
but they also said my weight was off I had 8 pounds the receipt said 9 pounds 2.4 ozs yet they stated the weight was 14 pounds
now I know my scale is a bit off but not by that much thats quite a difference
I did try to dispute the charge I mean if I didnt pay enough postage Ill pay the difference but only for the pound its under not 6 pounds the USPS said it was
has anyone else gotten this type of notice--I have had a few underpayment through the years but never anything like this
I did get a generic reply when I sent the dispute form but it said to go to this link and fill out yet another form but half the information I dont even know what there talking about
after last years mess with the PO over my lost item with insurance and now this I might stop shipping during the holidays its not worth the aggravation
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

If it was USPS, contact your local PO and ask them.

Sure I shipped a package and got a noticed the package was over the weight I said. My scale said 8 pounds but I knew it was a bit off my receipt said from the POsaid 9 pounds 2.4 ounces. The demensions were also off. Yet the PO in the email said it was 14 pounds even though the receipt when I dropped it off said 9
so I filed a dispute form
today I get an email saying
good news your dispute has been closed and go
PC postal entity
but nothing as to where to go
a simple yes or no is all I needed
yes I was right and will get a refund
no I was wrong and no refund
I really hate dealing with the PO
tbeyre always right even when they aren’t
Hope this clears things up

oddly enough I just to do a search for PC postage entity and it said it’s whoever you bought the postage from which in my case would be eBay
srarching further there were posts about this going back to 2020
so I guess I have my answer just another hoop to jump through
but thanks to the replies

You posted about this on Dec. 31.

From the previous thread, "I had 8 pounds the receipt said 9 pounds 2.4 ozs yet they stated the weight was 14 pounds"
9 lb. 2.4 oz is charged a 10 pound rate, NOT 9 lbs. (Your weight would have been 2 lbs. off plus whatever wrong service you paid for vs. the packaging and dimensions.)

eBay is the PC postage entity and they're not going to do anything but refer you to USPS.
What happened was explained on your other thread.
When you bought the label you entered package dimensions of 19x10x5 and USPS claims the actual package dimensions were 26x17x5 which does impact the cost.
You had an adjustment for dimensional weight, a $4 surcharge for length and $1.50 non-compliance fee.
You confirmed your dimensions and weight were guesses and not accurate, so I'm not sure why you're surprised your appeal was denied. It's best to accept your error, learn from it, and not repeat the same mistake. Do not use estimates - always use actual outer dimensions and weight when setting up listings and purchasing labels.
Consider the $9.75 charge as getting off easy as sellers using UPS and FedEx without knowing the rules get hit with much larger cost adjustments.

The receipt I got from the PO said 9 pounds 2.5 ounces.
not the 14 pounds I got charged for plus it said shipping label does not match shipping used which is totally wrong
I picked postal advantage and that’s what my receipt says

As others have explained, the size impacts "billable weight" or "dimensional weight."
USPS said your dimensions were 26x17x5
26x17x5 / 166 = approx 13.3 which rounds up to 14 lbs.
This is how dimensional weight works:
https://ir.ebaystatic.com/pictures/aw/shipping/DIM_Weight_Guide.pdf
When you enter accurate dimensions, the correct dimensional weight is automatically calculated, but when you enter wrong dimensions you can end up under-paying which is what happened here.

Wait, the email said good news?
Did you check your eBay payment transactions page to see if there's a credit?
https://www.ebay.com/mes/transactionlist?sh=true
It can take several days for USPS to process the credit to eBay and for eBay to process the credit to you. Check that page and if you don't see the credit within a week, come back.
The "good news" comment makes me think your dispute was approved, perhaps USPS found the dimensions they initially claimed were off because another package was stuck with yours.
