I offer UPS to Canada, Ebay charges the buyer for it, but makes me use a more expensive service!

This makes no sense to me. When building a listing, I decide to offer UPS to Canada since some people there have told me they prefer it. And in the little shipping calculator it provides a price based on my dimensions. So I know it's possible. Lo and behold, the winning bidder is from Canada. And he pays the exact same price I saw on Ebay's calculator. But, when I go to print a label, UPS is nowhere to be found in the label generator. Instead, it forces me to use USPS or EIS, both of which of which are more expensive. So now I either have to cough up the difference in money, or go to UPS and enter the order from scratch (and who knows what it will cost since it will lack the Ebay discount).  Thanks Ebay!

If you have direct shipping to Canada with UPS and USPS, you will  have the option to print an EISD label but you will not have the option to print an EIS label.   EISD doesn't have the seller protection that EIS does but it does have up to $100 of insurance if the package is lost.

"EISD doesn't have the seller protection that EIS does but it does have up to $100 of insurance if the package is lost. "

So that's the only difference? Less seller protection? Is it the same deal where you ship the item to Ebay in Kentucky and they take care of it from there?

afaik EISD sometimes has you ship a center in the US (not sure where it is) and it is forwarded from there. But I have also seen some sellers post that they have shipped directly to the buyer using USPS so I'm not sure if it works the same way each time.  But the seller (not ebay) is  responsible for the package until it reaches the buyer. If it is lost the seller has to refund and then put in a claim for up to $100.

Disclaimer...this is how it has worked in the past but being that I can't find info on it right now, I'm not sure if it works exactly the same. eBay has said that they will be discontinuing it. I have seen other sellers post saying that they are still using it.

off topic...The EIS centers are in Penn and California, not Kentucky. GSP was in Kentucky.

Thanks for your reply! Ebay has always been confusing and over-complicated to me. I'm not sure if Ebay considers normal sellers when it creates their policies. They seem to do it assuming most sellers are huge corporations with dedicated tech & legal teams willing to spend the time figuring out all the policies.

I think there is one in Illinois, too.

Similar to ur situation, the UK due to Brexit is all screwed up on ebay. I created a special shipping profile just for the UK. Perhaps you should do so only for Canada? I have had no issues once I did so.
