This year is a nightmare. Drop stuff off for shipping and the post office doesn't scan it in. I had packages mailed 12/1 that went from Baltimore to Hyattsville, MD that are just sitting around. I have customers wanting refunds.
eBay's response SILENCE.
IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEAK WITH ANYONE AT USPS.
CONTACTED USPS VIA TWITTER- NOTHING!
I AM TIRED OF THE COVID EXCUSE!

Covid is not an excuse it's a reality. Maybe you should be mad at the origin. Andrew

Were you not aware of the USPS massive workloads and delays? The carriers and sorters are literally working day and night to try and get packages delivered. I had a buyer who very calmly asked me if I had any additional updates on the package aside from the "in transit, arriving late." The next day the buyer tells me that his mail carrier actually delivered to his house at 10pm, while wearing a forehead lamp so she could see. He was really appreciative of what they do during this difficult time.
If you are tired of the Covid "excuse", you can always shut your store down during this time. You are still in control of your business. You can easily speak to someone from USPS... walk into your local PO. Although I fear that might cause you even more distress because you will hear the word "Covid".

True. After all, everything Trump touches dies.

Yep you most likely will be refunding due to the mess.
Just saying: more users purchasing online due to covid means more items to sort:
Lack of employees.
And just plain stressed out employees with the USPS>
Codvid had nothing to do with it right????
Wrong it does.
As for ebay:

I am tired of the COVID excuse, too. It is not not the mail carriers that are the problem but the management that runs the network of sort facilities and logistics. Maybe December 1st, when op bought the label they should have sold Op a 21-Day Priority-Mail label instead of misrepresenting this as a 2-Day service.
Even now they misrepresent shipping deadlines. The USPS claims items shipped Priority Mail by December 19 will make it by Christmas. It is **bleep** Many items shipped December 1st likely will not make it in truth!
https://www.usps.com/holiday/holiday-shipping-dates.htm
It is one thing to have normal delays, but it is inexcusable to not at least get everything scanned the day it is accepted. It is also inexcusable not to work packages First-In-First-Out with each mail-class a separate queue, atlas USPS a cannot even figure out Priority-Mail-Express is higher priority than Media-Mail!
Then to not respond or talk with the news and call the postal police on them for daring to ask to speak to the Postmaster over the issues at Cleveland...
https://fox8.com/news/i-team/pictures-show-mountains-of-mail-not-getting-delivered/
To put mail in closets in the past got folks fired when an isolated Post Office did it to a few hundred items delaying the mail a few days...
UPS and FedEx do NOT have many these these types of issues, they certainly scan, and delays are not systemic!
Now, THIS is what USPS does! If there is any part of this you think is excusable then, you have the floor:

Ya know... I hear ya. Life been especially hard for so many this year. I'm not one of them and grateful.
Many businesses been hit very hard. USPS is one of them. Life keeps marching on...
Truly who knows what 2021 will bring. Many think it will be better. Great positive thinking. We need that.
Only time will tell. No knows for sure.

This is exactly right. No one is saying USPS should be delivering every single package in the same time frame they normally do, the issue is the dishonesty/fraudulent behavior. Covid is not an excuse for unethical behavior. Covid is not the one selling the 2 day priority mail shipping labels that USPS knows will not be delivered in 2 weeks, much less 2 days. Covid is not the one accepting packages and not scanning them. Covid can excuss the longer delivery times, I'm sure everyone agrees with that. Covid can not be used as an excuse for such horrible customer service though.

I saw the pictures of all the mail and all I can think of is that is looks like a large building and it aslo looks like it can handle it.I am sure the bulding processes lots of mail every day and can handle it
I have seen a few pictures like these and noticed the absence of workers, where are they in the pictures.

piles and piles of boxes wont go away without more hours.

My take on is that they know xmas is always frantic they know there is a pandemic as its been going on a while and they know its winter and weather conditions will now also cause delays.....
I know they have been hiring bunches of seasonal workers but my opinion is it obviously was not nearly enough!
Bad planning !
12-18-2020 05:24 PM
and by day and night you mean, items taking four days to go to the next hub when normally they make that trip in 12 hours tops
12-18-2020 05:24 PM
Ahh, so he gave you a big hug.

The USPS delivers more packages in three days than Fedex and UPS deliver in a year. Covid isn't an excuse, it is our reality. The USPS mail volume has increased 51% and every day between 25% and 50% of the employees are out due to illness and quarantine. I am sure that if you think you have a better way to delivering a billion pieces of mail every day, the USPS will love to hear about it.
