I am absolutely disgusted right now. I mailed out a bunch of cards during the week of February 15th when the majority of the US was experiencing severe and inclement weather due to the Polar Vortex. This was the first week I used their joke "eBay Standard Envelopes for Trading Cards up to $20". I am new to eBay, joined January 11, 2021. I was using USPS First Class mail before that week and was losing money on cheaper cards I was selling because the shipping cost as much or more than the card. I almost quit selling cards that were under $10. I had bought a card from a guy that I received around February 12th and noticed his shipping was only $0.51. I messaged him and asked how he paid so little and he told me about the "Standard Envelopes". That day has ended up being the worst day on eBay for me. I followed the instructions for using these envelopes with 100% accuracy. I even bought a postal scale to make sure each envelope weighed correctly. I bought a ruler to make sure the envelope I was taping the label onto fit the right dimensions. I did everything exactly the way the instructions said. A lot of the envelopes I mailed out the week of February 15th were stuck on "Label Created" and "Origin Processing" for weeks, some still are to this day. I literally printed off the label and mailed the cards the day of or the very next day they were sold!!! What blows my mind is that a lot of these said envelopes that are stuck on "Label Created" or "Origin Processing" have been delivered!!! How do I know? Because I have received positive feedback from the BUYERS!!!! Yet the tracking has never updated!!! I have spent 12+ hours on the phone with eBay reps AND have spent at least four hours of my own time meeting with USPS. I have met with three clerks at my local post office, a supervisor at the local post office, AND the manager at the regional sorting facility in my area. Both the supervisor and manager tried to scan the envelopes with their scanners and NOTHING showed up when they scanned the QR code AND the barcode above the address. They said even though the label has a tracking ID, there is no way for USPS to track it and have no idea how eBay is tracking them. They literally told me that these "eBay Standard Envelopes" were a scam. Each of the eBay reps I have spoken with, ON A RECORDED LINE, have promised me that I would not receive any bad marks on my account because there is a known issue that they are working to resolve, and that I am not the only seller having issues with these. USPS AND the eBay reps I have spoken with have also said that mail was extremely delayed due to the inclement and severe weather that took place in February. Once again, I was promised by eBay reps, INCLUDING A REP MANAGER, that I would be taken care of and would receive ZERO bad marks on my seller performance. WELL GUESS WHAT????? They are piling the bad marks on my account AFTER promising they wouldn't. I was told if I received bad marks, to call them, and they would get them taken off. GUESS WHAT???? I called them and was promised once again they would get them taken off, ON A RECORDED LINE!!! GUESS WHAT??? I received several emails saying "We've reviewed your request to remove the late shipment rating related to this transaction. We cannot remove it in this instance, as it is an indicator of a less than positive buying experience. We understand you may feel that you did everything to take care of your buyer". Then the email goes on to tell me to ship my items on time and upload tracking as soon as possible!! WHAT IN THE HELL DO THEY EXPECT WHEN I PRINT THEIR LABEL OFF WITHIN MINUTES OF SELLING AN ITEM AND IT UPLOADS THE TRACKING AUTOMATICALLY???? WHAT IN THE HELL DO THEY EXPECT WHEN I MAIL THESE ITEMS OUT THE SAME OR VERY NEXT DAY??? My mind is blown by how this company is treating me. Who in this company is held accountable for their empty promises and who in this company actually gives two craps about sellers? I know I am not the only seller experiencing this stab in the back by eBay because I have been told by several reps that it is a known issue and there are thousands of sellers going through this. They know about the issue, so why in the hell are they punishing us when we have done everything that has been asked of us. I have gone above and beyond, but eBay has done nothing but turn it's back on me. I am so disgusted right now with this treatment that I could puke!!!!! This company is ruining people's reputations over issues with their own scam system and with issues that occurred naturally. If I didn't care so much about all of this, I would have NOT spent as much time as I have calling, meeting, messaging buyers, keeping on top of things, and stressing out over all of this. I did my part, but eBay has failed to uphold their responsibility. Especially since they broadcasted to all of us that there are "UPDATE: Seller Protections for shipping delays from storms across the US, and messaging to buyers". I guess that was a lie as well. It's hilarious because in this letter that was a lie, they specifically stated that "Sellers do not need to worry about their eBay seller performance due to delays caused by the storm." They also lied about how "
You do not need to worry about your seller performance. If your business is impacted, eBay will automatically protect your seller performance, including:
Whatever, all eBay has done is lie to me. I was in the heart of this inclement weather, but STILL made sure I dropped items I sold off at the post office. I put my own life at risk driving in the snow and ice to make sure I was fulfilling my commitment to buyers who purchased items from me. Thanks eBay for punishing me for your SCAM envelope tracking AND for severe and inclement weather that delayed shipping that I had no control over. Thank you eBay reps and management for LYING to me each time I called when you promised me that you would make sure that my seller performance would not suffer because of this.

There are seller protections for those that secured a scan. Being stuck on “label created” means that you didn’t secure a scan.

When you drop off these “eBay standard envelopes for trading cards up to $20”, the post office is not able to scan it to give you a receipt for proof of drop off. Did you not read what I said? How in the hell am I supposed to “secure a scan” if there is nothing on the label to scan? Please enlighten me because you seem to know more than a supervisor and a manager at the regional sorting facility in my area. I’ll wait patiently for your answer.

I am in agreement with jlls. I am super worried myself. My first month of tracked envelope was great. I went about 20 for 20 on envelopes being updated and marked delivered, all cards under $5. My last 7 envelopes are stuck at Label Created or Origin Processing. We are at the mercy of a buyer saying they actually received the delivery. Luckily, Ebay insures these envelopes and their FAQ says sellers will get their entire amount refunded if they stick to their word on insurance (hopefully they aren't as bad as USPS). My guess is we will have to refund the amount and then wait for Ebay to give us the funds back. I am fully anticipating this to be a problem, but luckily, these are all low dollar transactions.

It was a bit difficult to read through that super long paragraph. Apologies if I have offended you. I think you are taking out your frustrations on me, which is fine - life goes on.
my point is still valid - those that ship without tracking, where by convenience or necessity, are at greater risk than those that do. Not everything is ideal to be sold on eBay.

eBay standard envelopes for trading cards up to $20 have integrated tracking... I give up, you must not know about the service

The problem is that people like you and I are getting bad marks applied to our seller performance. We are being hammered with "Late Shipment Rate" and "Tracking Uploaded on Time and Validated" marks. When we drop these off at the post office, there is no possible way for the post office clerk to scan them and print us off a receipt for proof of drop off. Like I said, I have quit using these envelopes and have had zero issue with tracking being updated through USPS. Heck I still have cards out there I shipped with these ebay standard envelopes that are stuck on "Label Created", but the buyer has left positive feedback saying they received the card, but eBay still hasn't updated the listing from "shipped" to "delivered". Even though the buyer has received the card while the tracking is not updated, I am getting bad marks on my account for "Late Shipment". LMAO!!!! Is this some kind of joke??? Then we were sent out a letter saying that due to the inclement weather and USPS being delayed, we would be protected. That was a lie as well. I'm absolutely sick about this situation for all of us being affected. Us buyers who used these envelopes are being blamed for stuff that is out of our control. I just don't know what else to do man. Was on the phone again today for an hour and a half, but as usual, I was promised this and that, but nothing was resolved.

Ebay is total **bleep**!!!!!!!!!! I am actually suprised they let you post that entire comment un enteruptted?!! They are a corrupt and lying organization based mainly in the phillipines the cheap **bleep**s at ebay outsourced everything from the US to there , the staff in the phillipines are as ignorant to listening to the customer as it gets! Same experience here. Many satisfied customers are still showing as not yet delivered in the Ebay system. At the same time, I have been tracking thru a third-party app (parcels app), which saved me from one buyer trying to claim he didn't receive a card that he apparently had. Standard envelope shipping and tracking is a joke.

Get a scan when you hand in the labels to the Post Office.
The clerks may act crabby about it but too bad on them.
