How to track when seller shipped package from China with tracking # of WCFF017061618658.

I ordered a package from China and the seller marked it as shipped. The tracking they provided is WCFF017061618658. I've never seen a tracking number like this and can't find anything about it online. What kind of tracking is this? Is it legit? Thanks for the help!

That depends on whether it's a valid tracking # or not. China Post allows someone to create a tracking number before purchasing a label and sometimes Chinese sellers use this to add tracking to a transaction that is never tied to any package.

If it is a legitimate tracking number added to your package then you can track it through the transaction page on eBay. Or you can google tracking China Post shipments but that's not needed since you can see tracking through eBay.

Packets from China can take 3-6 weeks to arrive. eBay should have provided you an estimated delivery date on the transaction. If your package doesn't show up within a week or two of that date then you can file an Item Not Received claim. Chances are the package will turn up around the time of delivery estimate, tracked or not.

That's a package ID, not a tracking number; it will never show delivered.

Wait until one day after the last estimated delivery date, then start an item not received refund request.

If the seller didn't use tracking, you'll get a refund.

As explained, that "tracking number" will never show delivered.

But it is useful as a package ID, to identify and tell apart several labels arriving at the same time.

Why buyer has to reserch about it?

It's seller's responsibility to give the right direction how to track your package.

Otherwise, seller can leave any No. as the Tracking.

Tracking No. should be trackable No. so, it was called Tracking No.

Its not the sellers responsibility. If buyers want tracking they should take the time to learn how to use it. The seller isn't required to use tracking let alone provide the number. If you want to get technical, the sellers responsibility is to provide the number and the carrier. If a buyer can't figure out how to track the package its not the sellers problem.
