How to set handling time above 3 days? (No "Advanced" option in top right)

I relisted a mail-in service and just realized that the handling time is set to 3 days (whereas the listing before I relisted it was set to 30 days). I am at the mercy of the buyer to mail in their item so I can repair it then send it back, so I need to set the handling time to maximum so I don't get punished for their delay.

Surprise, surprise, I cannot change the handling time to above 3 days. I found a community post about changing settings on the "Advanced" view of a listing: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Archive-Selling/Can-t-choose-a-handling-time-above-3-days/td-p/2362991... (WHY are/were there even 2 possible views for editing a listing? There seems to be 2/3 views for almost everything on this site now. It's a mess. A bunch of web interfaces from 2003 still lingering around with some wanna-be sleek 2016 ones mixed in (with fewer features).)

However, I don't see any "Advanced" option in the top right; just a gear icon that I can click that gives me a drop-down for changing the handling time (max. 3 days). How do I make the handling time higher? Please help!

You do need the Advanced version of the listing form in order to access longer handling times.  The Advanced form is available only on real computers, not on the app.  Is there a link near the gear, that says, "Change listing preferences"?  Click on that, then there will be a link for switching to the Advanced form if you're using a computer (not the app).

There is no "link near the gear." I only work on my eBay listings on PC.

I think you're almost there.  You have clicked on the link that says "Change listing preferences."  Now, close that window.  After you close that preferences window (maybe you should click on Save to make sure it takes), you should see the link for switching to the Advanced form in the upper-right, next to the gear.

There are never any words at all next to the gear.

You seem to be revising an active listing.  Swiching to the Advanced form can only be done when setting up a listing.

Right. So there's no way to change the handling time without completely closing the current listing and making a new one. Whelp. Not what I wanted to hear. Thanks for your help & kindness
