I shipped the wrong items to two people. I have decided to refund each buyer. I see no option on the item detail page for returns.
1. I don’t accept returns
2. I don’t want to refund through paypal (losing the eBay documentation)
3.Do I need to have the buyers request a return/refund for the option to show up. I am assuming this is the best way but don’t want to give the buyers the wrong information.

Try going to your Manage paid and shipped orders page. On the left to each mailed item is a drop down menu. One of the options is Send Refund. From there it is quite straightforward.

PS. The above is for a situation when you do not want to get ebay involved in the return process and you trust that the buyer will send the item back. Otherwise, the buyer needs to initiate a return thru ebay. They need to go to their Purchase History page. To the right of each item is a number of options They need to select Return This Item and then go from there.

I don’t see the option you are talking about. There is only a box to the left. It does nothing. You can see in the pic that I’ve selected the drop down arrow on the right and there isn’t an option. I use an iPad and suspect that a computer would show a different view.
Is there a negative for me as a seller if I have the buyer initiate a refund request?
