Hello,
I have a big number of Buys on ebay, so I create a unique number for each transaction that looks like IC002345MAN, it's easier for me after to track the item in the system, I add usually the number in the shipping address when I make the payment, till now this was working fine, now for 3 months, almost all packages, came without this number?
Do you know a better method to add your identification number and to have it added on boxes by seller? What I can say it's that I still add a private message asking to add this number on box, but usually this is ignored.
Would help to upgrade to a Business EBay account?

Add it to the name on the first line:
Toner Ninja IC002345MAN
123 Somewhere Blvd
Here ZZ 56789
by clucking (as hen would write) Change on the Ship To at Checkout.
Note eBay will store IC002345MAN with that particular order --
even though you'll replace IC002345MAN on the nect order.
Or add it as the first address line, and move your address to the second line:
Toner Ninja
IC002345MAN
123 Somewhere Blvd
Here XX 56789
But while this will gradually grow your addressbook at eBay --
I haven't hit a limit yet on the number of addresses.

Where are you adding the number? In Ebay or in PayPal? Some seller print shipping labels from Ebay, some from PP and some from other sources. Your addresses in each site would need to be updated when you make a purchase. That seems like a lot of work to me.
Have you tried just adding a note on your payment for the seller to add your number to the address or otherwise note it wherever it is you want it?

Usually I am adding it in the 1st line of address and after the street address.
Like this:
Jim Morris
Purchase number#MS081418TWI, 9704 Morris Lane
Pittsburgh e
etc.
I am adding the number when paying from Ebay but with Paypal, adding a note to seller I was doing in the past and was a low number of sellers that would add that.
Best Wishes,

But keep in mind that a seller may print the label from Ebay OR they may print it directly in PayPal. Each site has their own addresses that you need to update. So since you do not know which source the seller will use for the address, you should change / add your number to the ship to address in BOTH Ebay and PayPal.

Thank you for your reply.
Could you also help if there is an Ebay Business upgrade, where a Purchase order # can be added separately? Or maybe in Business Paypal?
Thank you,

Thank you,
I'm not aware of any way to do that on Ebay other than the way you have been doing your own personal purchase ID number.
