How to File USPS Claim w/ Proof of Value and Proof of Payment if needed:

If you need to provide Proof of Payment or Proof of Value for a USPS claim provide this in both a PDF and screenshot to USPS in your claim or Appeal.

Orders>Order Details>Blue Box Dropdown>Print Packing Slip & More>Select Order Receipt (only) (Make certain to customize and be sure Ship from,listing photo,shipping info and payment info are checked) >Print a PDF and a Screenshot.

Provide both the .pdf and the .jpg in your claim or appeal.

I used this method, but was still denied because I had issued a refund to the buyer, so the payment info was blank (since there was no transaction anymore in eBay's eyes).  I just resubmitted sn appeal explaining that, and showing screenshots of all of the info, including the refunds issued.  Hopefully that will work.  I think in the 20+ years I've been selling on eBay, I've only had to put in 5 or 6 claims, and they were all easy until this year.  This year I've had 2 that have been no-brainers that were both denied.  I gave up on the first (the buyer refused to take the items in for inspection) - hopefully I can pull out a win on this one.

Thank you so much for this info!  I know this is an old thread but I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer.  I've had my USPS insurance claim denied twice now and I only have one appeal left so I have to get it right.  When I used this method it shows that payment was received on the date of the sale but under "paid with" it just has --.  Not sure how to show Ebay was the payment processor.  I know that USPS wants to see who the payment processor is.

I feel like USPS keeps moving the goalpost on how one is supposed to file a insured package claim.  I filed one earlier this year exactly the same as how I did in '22 and it was denied.  Their response sounded like they wanted a precisely itemized spreadsheet-like page for the claim.  I just created the one below on the fly and submitted it as my appeal, and lo and behold, the claim was approved.  I think much of the approved/denied yo-yo depends on whether your claim is reviewed by a laid back or strict employee.  You are free to copy this method as you see fit.
