So the new USPS pricing is alittle bit of a shock...I offer Free Shipping on all my items. Was just wondering, for those offering free shipping have you started charging for shipping? Adding a dollar or two to the price or charging like a handling fee of like 1-2$? Just curious what everyone is doing.
Thanks!

I ship everything for free.

If you are using Free Shipping about your only option is to increase you price to cover the increase cost if you want to maintain the same margin on your item. This is the same thing that you would have to do with any increase in cost if the profit margin is to remain the same.

Ah, the great classics. I think you've just summarized the entire discussion board for the last 2 weeks.

I use calculated shipping. I didn't have to do anything.

I do free shipping. I increased my prices. I also did some title revision at the same time as well as changing listing intervals to daily. It looks like the price increase has not affected sales, the title revision and daily listing seems to have a positive result.
I started last December to formulate a plan, as soon as I heard the new plan for first class parcel.
I downloaded my sales for the past 3 years. I looked at which postal zones I sold in most frequently. I raised my pricing to cover the costs of those two postal zones. So they will pay the full increase. The closer zones will end up paying a bit more, and the further away zones will get a bit of a break.
Come July I will look back and see how things are really doing and will adjust accordingly.

I don't use free shipping because it is a huge deterrent to people who would like to purchase multiple items. Instead, I use calculated shipping and then offer shipping discounts to people who buy more than one thing from me.

That's what I do too.....calculated shipping, with a discount for combined shipping.
