I need to sell two 15 inch diameter bowls that weigh 13 pounds combined. They will not fit in a large flat rate box.
I put in the dimesions of a 24 x12 x 24 box and the weight of 13 pounds into USPS and the cheapest price that came up was 87.00. I put in the shipping address from Texas to New York since that is typically one the higher places for me to ship. Any suggestions? Has anyone used Shippo? If so , can you brief me on how that works?
Thanks,
Michelle

When you make your listing and put in your pkg dimensions and weight-- please click" calculate shipping" and you see your shipping choices and rates. Be sure to click on "ebay rates" , not "in store" rates . It will automatically give you the highest rates first. I just entered your box size/weight and the price was cut almost in half after I selected "ebay rates" . Try USPS, FedEx, and UPS for the best economy delivery. Before listing an item, determine shipping charges + added ebay fees on the shipping costs to determine your total costs before making your listing -- or you may incur a negative sale. Shipping larger items can be very expensive, especially if they are cross country. Good luck!!

Hi Michelle, when shipping heavier breakables, UPS Ground would be the next carrier i consider when comparison shopping on shipping price. The listing forms have the comparison rates for USPS, UPS and FedEx to help sellers determine the best method. Not familiar with Shippo, but other posters will be along.

In cases like this, I usually offer a couple of options to buyers. USPS priority and FedEx ground. I indicate that in the listing ( as well what I belive they will weigh to ship) and let the buyer decide the option best for them.

Packages over 1 cubic foot will incur a 'dimensional weight" rather than shipping according to their actual scale weight. For large packages, you will probably find that eBay's discounted price for FedEx Ground is your best value.
Here's eBay's shipping calculator tool:

Cheaply? Not gonna happen. They would have to be double boxed, extra wrapped, etc, and that size is not going to be cheap.
Unless these are some sort of uber valuable and pricey collectible bowls, I wouldn't even attempt to ship them.

FedEx doesn't tell youthis but they won't pay for any "glass" that breaks.
Were it my bowls USPS Priority would be the only way I would ship. Dim weight is expensive. You honestly have to package them like they'll survive if the package is thrown down a flight of stairs.

You won't ship anything anything like that "cheaply"
There are cheaper options none of which are "cheap"
