Hi there. I just had a customer purchase 10 of the same items from me. The problem is I was only able to purchase 5 labels through ebay then it said I had reached the max lablel limit. I realize I could go use my shipstation account or stamps.com to buy the rest but that will cost me a fair amount more if I buy through them vs ebay. Is there a way around this? Thanks.

The limit is usually for printing the same label 5 times. Are you sure you purchased the label 5 times and did not try printing the same label 5 times. You can check this by going to the shipping labels page. The 5 labels should show up as individual purchases for each label as long as you are with in 24 hours of purchase there should be a reprint option. Also look at the labels you printed if the same label was printed more than once they will have the same tracking number.
If it turns out you did purchase 5 separate labels then perhaps this is a browser issue I would try a different browser.
Since this buyer bought 10 items through separate purchases you should be able to combine into 1 box and save on the cost of the shipping labels. After the label is purchased you would need to manually add the tracking to the other sales records. For multiple purchases with the same sales record number the tracking will automatically update for each item.
When combining shipping in situations were the buyer pays full price upfront I issue a partial refund for the difference in the cost of shipping to the buyer through PayPal. To get the difference I generally get the full shipping cost the buyer paid by looking at each order detail. Then I take 10 percent out for the final value fee on the shipping. Then when I purchase the label I subtract the cost of the label and the discount for purchasing online. The remaining amount I issue a partial refund through PayPal to the buyer.

The only time you would not combine is if the sale is a international purchase and is to be shipped through eBay's 2 international shipping programs. In those cases the items need to be shipped individually or separated by each of different the sales records.

There are limits both on labels-per-purchase (5) and also on printing-attempts-per-label (10).

If you get to the third or fourth label and are still having issues-save it to your desktop. That may help avoid the issues and you can print from there a million times.

Thanks everyone for all of the replies! I wasn't able to purchase any more labels the next day. Ebay customer support did get back to me and confirmed the limit of 5 labels. Here is what they said, "I have check the order details for order# xx-xxxx-xxxx and I can see that you have already purchased 5 labels. Apparently, in terms of printing shipping label on the site, you are only allowed to purchase 5 labels since it’s the only limit that the shipping carriers have allowed us to put on the system. That said, if you still need to purchase more labels, it’s either you will do it directly in the post office or purchase them through PayPal instead."
Most of the time a person could combine multiple items into one box and not have a problem but in this case I'm sending out computers so that's not really feasible. Again, thank you all for taking the time to reply. 👍
I've encountered the 5 labels per order twice myself, so I understand your frustration. The bolded statement is untrue, the 5 label limit is a choice that eBay makes as part of their system design. The "shipping carriers" have no idea that any two labels are from a single eBay order.
