I've purchased a few phone cases recently, and the seller paid $.79 - .89 postage. I don't see any options for shipping on ebay or on pirate ship for less than $3 or so. How can they do this? What is the secret?

They're shipping from China which has been deeply subsidized by the government.

From China?

Definitely not from China. Regular USPS shipping here in the US.

The last item you bought shows Chinese writing on the 2nd picture; somehow the seller is using Chinese subsidies.

Everything I bought was shipped in the usa. All the usps tracking shows the origination was in a USA city.

Does the label say '1st Class'? Does it have a label? Does it have a tracking number?

Here is one I received recently. You can see the mailing sticker. It was shipped from Florida to Michigan and was a phone case.

This was definitely over 1/4 inch thick.

Exactly, which is why there is a non machinable surcharge.

OK, cool. I don't seem to find anything like that when purchasing shipping through ebay or pirate ship. Can you give me the lowdown?

Was your item trackable? I know you can purchase non machinable stamps, but obviously those would not be trackable.

I bet if you went to easypost.com /signup like it says on the label it would be an enlightening event.
i have no idea how some ebayers can ship or where they get it done
