My experience is limited to one instance but that was enough for me:
I ordered a car part out of Germany on eBay to be shipped to the Netherlands. It was basically parked in Munich from March 2nd to 12 to be 'sorted'. It then went to Friedewald to be sorted some more. We asked several times what the hold up was and were told it could easily take seven days to ship an item internationally. REALLY?? SEVEN DAYS?!?! That's ridiculous in this day and age. Here in the US, I get fedEx or UPS packages within maybe two days. Any longer just does not fly here.
The only thing that would be even more insane would be it take longer than seven days -- WHICH IT HAS! It is now 3/15 and has still not left Germany. When I now ask, I'm told I have to ask the original shipper to start an inquiry.
Hermes is a horrible shipper. They are polite when they reply but cares about that? I pay for service. Hermes' service is getting a package from A to B, at which they fail miserably. Don't use them. If you buy something from someone (vendors, eBay, etc), specify that it cannot be shipped by Hermes. You cannot afford to have your package stuck in their warehouse for 'sorting'. This is total **bleep**!
We desperately need this part so were forced to buy it elsewhere. Got it within a day. Job done.
