Help!

Please help,

I bought an audio device. I Paid 2000 euros for it. Hard-earned money. The item did not match the description: I paid for software; it had none. Only hardware, which was useless to me. The case was clear as day, and the seller agreed for a return. Although at first, he did not want to communicate and denied the return.

eBay set a deadline for the seller to arrange the return. He did not manage to make the arrangements and delayed- eBay did give him more time (without asking me).

Then the seller arranged a pick up for the device: he sent me a collection manifest. The date for the collection was on a day when I was on vacation. I told him I would not be at home. He responded: it is not my problem. No one ever contacted me from DPD, when I contacted them, they could not help me, since they only serve companies, and also because the one who bought the collection can make changes.

I asked eBay and the seller to help me: the seller should arrange for me the return, and eBay should keep the case open. The result was that the seller never responded, and eBay closed the case so that I do not get my money back.

Now eBay tells me that I should continue to work with the seller and ask PayPal for help since they have extended time, 180 days, for cases like this.

So eBay did nothing to help me, and they won't do anything to help me. And all the seller had to do to make his scam work was to keep on scamming (not arranging the return) and wait for the case to be closed.

All the stress is on me. The seller has my money and no pressure, eBay says the case is closed, and they can not do anything. They are not taking any responsibility for this. I think this is wrong.

Help me, please

Open a case with your credit card company.

Ebay has a Money Back Guarantee. If you aren't happy for any reason, you get your money back.

The process is as follows: (A) Open an "Item not as described" return and (B) follow the instructions.

There are no "collections manifests" or arranging pick-ups with buyers. It sounds like you tried to do the return outside the ebay process? If so, I don't know what to say other than try to bring the process back into ebay. Maybe you can, but maybe it's too late. I don't know. If so, consider opening a case with PayPal and/or your credit card provider.

I would get on the phone with eBay and ask them to appeal the case. You have 30 days from the case decision to appeal.

If 30 days have lapsed since the case closed, I would go to my credit card company. Paypal is taking a ridiculous amount of time (in my experience) to close a case and there is no option to contact them currently.

You should have returned to the case and asked Ebay to step in.

What happened, you let the seller string you along long enough that the case automatically timed out and closed.

If you paid using Pay Pal, file a claim with them or your credit card company.
