Help with Post Office losing my package!

I need some advice, I dropped three packages off to the post office by my job on 10/09, i drop off packages during my lunch break so i usually dont get recipets and just leave them on the counter. Well a few days later i check the tracking number on all my packages and one of the three boxed has disapered! The other two boxes went to the same person but got delivered as expected, but the third box didnt even get scanned in, it still says waiting for the package on the tracking number. I went back to the branch and spoke with the manager and he tells me to wait a few more days it might still get delivered. Now its been over a week so i went back and talked to the manager again, the tracking is still showing that i didnt drop off the package and the manager seems clueless as what to do. I convinced him to put in a request to review the cameras to see if somebody stole it off the counter, so im currently waiting for his call. Im fully expecting to refund the buyers money but i want to see if anybody has had something like this happen and what was done to help?

Not much you can do if you don't get an acceptance scan ... that is the risk with dropping off a package like that.

So, yeah, your options are:

  1. Wait and hope it gets delivered ... and that your buyer is patient.
  2. Refund your buyer if they should complain or file an Item Not Received claim.
  3. Have the USPS put a trace on the package, but even if there is tracking it can be a slow multi-week process.

Re: Help with Post Office losing my package!

Has the buyer contacted you about this so-called missing package?

Note:  missing tracking updates is not the same as missing package.

If the barcode/number are illegible due to wrinkles, wet smudges, poor print quality, eg., the package may never get scanned but will still get delivered if the address is legible.
