I plug in Tracking # and get below message on USPS website, but do not know what this means. I am trying to find out where a Priority Mail pkge mailed to me from NJ to Tx on Monday 12/11 is and why it has not arrived yet, as of 12/15/17.
"Status
Label Created, not yet in system
A status update is not yet available on your Priority Mail® package. It will be available when the shipper provides an update or the package is delivered to USPS. Check back soon."
Anyone know what this means? Thanks for any replies.

You can try entering the tracking number at usps.com to get updates and hopefully shake your package loose. There could be delays due to weather as well.

According to USPS' tracking database, the seller has paid for postage but it has not yet been scanned as accepted (i.e., placed in USPS' hands). However, this can be deceptive, as packages are not always scanned at acceptance, and USPS' database can also be very slow to update.
So it doesn't mean that your package hasn't shipped, or that it's lost. Corners get cut at busy times, and this is the busiest time of the year for USPS.

No delays, other than usps dropping a ball somewhere, as same sender sent me letter first class 12/11 and I got it 12/14.

Yep, I see this message in other posts definitely infers no scanning was done but pkge should have arrived by now anyway.

OK, why would they do that? What did the letter say (paraphrased)?

it's the busiest time of the year.
I had a package pick up the other day at 8:30 pm. I've been getting my mail well after 6 or 7 for a few weeks.
Parcels are being delivered seperately, by people driving literally a uhaul. Amazon is having a record year. Online selling is at the highest ever. UPS is forcing their union drivers to work 70 hour weeks. Amazon hired 100,000 seasonal workers to fill orders.
All your past delivery times are essentially out the window right now and things are at a near breaking point.

Forgive me for a dumb question & for prying but is your user name slang for the lid guy? I’ve been wondering for some time now.
Happy Holidays! 😀
Hey @mg152!
My username is kind of obscure and it's no longer relevant, but I'm sticking with it. I joined eBay to buy and sell cards for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. "Thallid" is a creature from the early days of that game. Back when I was still playing, I used to drive a friend batty by using it in my playing decks a lot, so I decided to call myself "thallidguy."
I no longer trade Magic: The Gathering stuff very much, but I've kept the ID.

Basically, I'm guessing you typed in the tracking # exactly/correctly. If it's showing up with RED letters on the USPS website saying "STATUS NOT AVAILABLE" or whatnot, it can mean that the seller has not yet shipped. Since you give the dates, it seems like it has already been maybe 3-4 days with no scans. For a priority mail package, that is sort of unusual, but it is the holidays.
You can contact the seller asking if/when they have officially shipped (I'm guessing they most likely did not print the label because usually something would show up on the website by now). Or you can wait until Monday, and then contact the seller if the item never comes. I know people have mentioned sometimes they never get tracking updates on packages until it arrives at the PO. I've had this happen only once to me, and it was a first class mail package.

Means nothing. Letter mail and packages don't travel the same paths or priorities. Additionally, every day that passes during the holiday season means longer delays due to increasing backlogs.

Just found out from person who sent pkge that she gave me the wrong tracking number. So for those that see the message I got from USPS site (in my first post) let that be a warning they may not have gotten the right tracking number! Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night!
