Help With International Transaction.

I have a German buyer who bought a bulk lot of records. I ask in the description that international buyers should contact me for shipping rates to their country. Complained when seeing the shipping cost, which I charged the exact cost. Paid and upon receiving them complained not as described. Said drill holes in many of the labels, which I noted for each one that had a punch hole in description, and vinyl was wavy (warped). I personally checked each and every one and know there were not any warps, so it had to happen in transit (exposed to heat). I explain this to the buyer, and that I sent it insured. Buyer does not want me to file insurance claim. Buyer wants me to refund the purchase price, shipping and 50 euros before returning. Is this misusing buyer protection and making unreasonable demands? Thank you.

Thanks! I didn't know it could work like that, but seeing how he paid almost a month ago, I already deleted it. I didn't see the point in crowding my inbox since it was already recorded in paypal. It doesn't show his paypal address in paypal.

Re: Help With International Transaction.

I keep thinking about all the members who criticized me for not dealing with International buyers. JUST NOT WORTH IT!

Re: Help With International Transaction.

Look up the payment by date of the eBay order and amount in your PayPal account activity page.

Re: Help With International Transaction.

Oh, and I sell records too on a different marketplace and I do not put up with any complaining about shipping costs, if buyer want to cancel after I quote/invoice them, I'm happy to do it, rather than have to deal of this stuff. I want to deal with people who have money and not cry brokey.

Keep a folder in your inbox and filter those emails to that folder. No crowding at all.

Re: Help With International Transaction.

I always refund the buyer if they purchase it and say the shipping is too high. This buyer agreed. I charge them the actual postage cost. All of the materials come out of my pocket, as well as the fees paypal and ebay make off of shipping.

Thank you for the link, but only the main page is in english. After I click on International it is all in German.

Re: Help With International Transaction.

Where on the list that says calculate post is United States of America or America or even USA? Or under the drop down menu for sending parcels worldwide?

Clicking on sending parcels worldwide, you get taken to DHL:

https://www.dhl.de/en/privatkunden/preise/preise-international.html

Select Zone 5 - USA

You just want to get an idea of what the prices are, ask the buyer what the weight and dimension of the package is.

Re: Help With International Transaction.

Do I have to set up an account with DHL? I know the weight and dimensions if buyer is using the same carton. Buyer is still unresponsive.

Re: Help With International Transaction.

The ebay rep handling the escalations sent me a link for UPS Germany to USA in English. UPS is VERY expensive when it comes to international shipping. A lot more than USPS. I used the link to calculate the cost from the box I used. The cost is almost double what I paid to send it to Germany using USPS. Am I really required to pay almost double the cost? I remember reading a discussion on ebay where another ebay member stated you are not required to pay more than what you originally paid to ship it, but there was no link to support this info. Probably bogus.

Re: Help With International Transaction.

That rule was only for domestic transactions.

Re: Help With International Transaction.

Then ebay has been overcharging me for domestic returns. I charge $3.00 to ship and then ebay charges me $4.00 for a domestic return label. Do you have a link to support that?

All you need to do is figure out how much it costs to ship from DHL Germany back to USA with weight and dimensions of box and PayPal the buyer the amount as goods and services payment to ensure they use the money to ship the records back. If they don't, file a dispute on it.

Re: Help With International Transaction.

After you PayPal the buyer the postage, submit the PayPal transaction ID for the payment in to the return case.
