Has the weight/rate structure for First Class vs. Priority changed?

I’ve shipped many packages First Class packages weighing up to and including 15 oz. for a lower rate than Priority. However, in the last two days, when creating a listing and putting in the weight, I noticed that at 14 oz. with First Class still selected, it is changing to the SAME rate as Priority. Is this a glitch, or did something change?

Those are the retail prices. The weight limit for First Class packages shipped at retail rates is still just 13 ounces, even though the online weight limit is 15.99 ounces. So when you enter a weight above 13 ounces, eBay does the same as what the clerk at the PO counter would do: Upgrade to Priority.

But up until a few days ago, when purchasing a label through the eBay iPhone app, the price for 12-15.99 oz. was always the same, and LOWER than Priority. Now, it goes UP at 14 oz. to the SAME price as Priority, but still says First Class and is still UNDER 15.99 oz. I sell a lot of small, light things, like figurines & plush toys, so it’s often a matter of taking out a few packing peanuts or a piece or two of paper to still keep the weight just under 15.99 to get the lower rate with first class. If I can only do that now by keeping it under 13.99 oz. to get the lower rate, that means doing things differently, like maybe using another shipping service instead of buying and printing my labels through eBay, and/or putting in my own flat rate for some items, which I didn’t want to do.

According to the shipping calculator 16 ounce First Class is cheaper than Priority.

I just did a print label for a 15oz. pkg and the rate came in at $5.XX (can't remember the cent portion) I think $5.46 and I did it with eBay's shipping labels.

I wonder if the the eBay app has yet another glitch...

You're seeing this when you list according to your first post which makes nobody's response the answer to your question.

If you were seeing priority rates for first class when you printed shipping labels that would be a different story, but that's not what's happening here, right?

Set those 14-15.99 oz listings at 13 oz on the listing form if you're using calculated shipping. You shouldn't have any issues with the rates when purchasing the labels.

The images in your original post are not what you see when purchasing a label; they are what you see when you set up a listing. As I noted above, those are the retail prices. When you purchase your shipping label, you will be able to pay the online rate, which is the same  price for any weight from 13 to 15.999 ounces. As noted in the other post, you can just set the shipping weight to 13 ounces.  Or you can change your site preferences so that your listing shows the online rates instead of the retail prices, so there won't be a price jump at 14 ounces.

By the way, 13.99 ounces ships at the 14-ounce rate.  The way USPS rates work. they are UP TO the stated weight. A weight of 13.01 ounces counts as 14 ounces.
