HI shipping exclusion

is it possible to ship an item to Hawaii for just one listing if I have excluded HI on all my listings. I have a buyer who wants me to ship a rather expensive item and pay for shipping but I cant figure out how to edit just one listing, ty

Just put that buyer's ID on your exemption list.

ebay isn't that complicated.  You can allow shipping to Hawaii and Alaska on any individual auction by editing your shipping exclusions.

On that subject I mail many sales to both Hawaii and Alaska because I use tracking on every sale.  My customers pay the postage on every sale regardless of the size of the item or the destination.  There is a reason my shipping cost is $3.19 to any state.  Since I live on the west coast it costs me $3.19 for the farthest destinations, be it New York, Maine, Florida or Hawaii.

Of course for larger or heavier items I tend to use flat rate boxes.

FYI Not certain why you would exclude HI (or possibly Alaska and US protectorates - Puerto Rico, Guam, etc).  We live in GA and the USPS shipping rates via Priority Mail and First Class Package rates are the same as if we shipped to any of the West Coast states.   Some people heard it thru the grapevine that the rates are higher - they ain't.  Shipping time "might" be a day or two longer based on my experience.

Never shipped via USPS Ground services but I suspect shipping time would be longer.

Many buyers hold sellers responsible for postal service shipping times and leave (poor) feedback accordingly.

haven't had a problem with receiving a negative FB for slow shipping time in 1571  items I have shipped.  Most my items seem to arrive prior to the ESTIMATED delivery date provided by eBay. to the buyer.  We have a 1 day handling time and often ship the same day and ship via USPS Priority or First Class Package.

Likewise, when we buy items (at least 174  items ) on eBay very few  (maybe 1 or 2) are received later than estimated by eBay.  Only left one neg for a seller that did not ship a paid for purchase - they earned it.
