I recently shipped a shirt to a seller. I carefully packed the shirt first in a clear plastic shirt bag and then in a 12X15 Ebay poly Mailer. The buyer opened a case saying the shirt was too small. The shirt arriveD back smashed in the original envelope which was cut to a quarter of the original size. I was amazed that people can treat a return like this. The buyer had me send the shirt to his law firm. If this is a reflection of how he treat his clients I can't believe he is too successful
I sent him a very polite e mail asking him on behalf of all ebay sellers to consider returning any items in the condition that it was received. I have not heard back nor do expect to. And Ebay wants me to pay for this? Never going to happen

I've been selling for a few years now. Luckily, most customers are honest. I had a customer who ordered a very expensive tote bag. I sent in a big box with plenty of room since the tote was really wide, made of vinyl, and did not want creases. The tote was brand new. Customer returned the $45 tote in a box that was 2 inches wide. She had folded the tote so many times that there were lots of creases. She asked for a refund and I refused since she did not return in the original box and had ruined the tote. Sent pictures to Ebay. They made me spend time sending receipts and lots of pictures. They did not care. They only care about the BUYERS. I also keep getting email from Ebay for me to reduce my prices. I'm getting bare minumim now. Recently, I was sent an email from Ebay saying that if I get complaints about "not as described" that I will be charged an additional 4%. That's unfair along with the "not as described". I'm very honest. Seems buyers have learned that this is the way to get items FREE. I can't refund then pay for it to be mailed back. Mailing back costs even more so I just refund and let them keep the item. Now I'm getting customers who email once then just leave negative feedback. They don't even respond to my email for refund. Useless to call Ebay for anything.

I guess you should send him a return envelope. I don't think a person is going to open a sealed bag carefully so in case they have to return the item the bag is usable. If I was a buyer I would do the same thing, I'm not going to pay for a new envelope. Suck it up and move on guy.

I am not sure if you have the same thing but for about 6 months sellers are given leeway to refund at their discretion. I offer free returns so I pay return shipping but only refund original shipping if it wasn't as described. Also I can refund any amount I wish if was returned damaged or with the tags missing. But yeah screw Ebay!
