So I noticed when I bought a couple of items the other day that both showed "Guaranteed Delivery by Fri Aug 16". I actually took a screenshot. Now today it says "Guaranteed Delivery by Mon Aug 19".

Both items were bought and paid for with immediate payment. The first screen shot did not state anything about if they had shipped.

It just rubs me wrong that I was "Guaranteed" delivery by today and now I'm "Guaranteed" delivery by Monday. It cannot be both and I just feel that changing that date is somewhat disingenuous. If the date is subject to change than it was never really "guaranteed" to begin with and the term is really just a flat out lie if it can be changed.

Maybe I'm just not sure how the program works as a buyer though. Regardless - if it was never guaranteed by the date it shows to begin with than it should never say that it was. I also just noted that the emails are HTML that pull data from the website (the same way and item is ending soon email actually counts down and will change to ended) so now the emails are even changed. This is pretty misleading. Going by the change I could not even claim late delivery unless something gets delivered after whatever arbitrary date it gets ultimately changed to.

Also of note - the one items does still show today but I will wager that it will not get here today. I also am right in a major metro area so no odd rural delivery issues or anything like that.

Hello. This is still a current issue. I look at an item and it lists a guaranteed delivery date, and I buy it now and pay immediately with paypal, only to have the guaranteed delivery date change after purchase.

The guaranteed delivery date is a lot of the times the deciding factor in me purchasing something or not from ebay. Then to have that date changed/pushed back multiple days is unacceptable and/or downright shady.

The first few times it happened, I though maybe I had misread the date. But after seeing a pattern I started to pay more attention and sure enough, what was happening was exactly what I thought. I read the delivery dates properly, but they were being changed after the fact, after the sale.

Just purchased a $300 item on Feb 7th with a guaranteed delivery date of Feb 11th. Look at my orders page today Feb 9th, and what do you know, the date has been changed to Feb 13th.

I guess this means Ebay wants you to cancel the order if they show you a changed "estimated" time after your payment is made. Or they should have a warning: Do you if you still want it if we had to change?. Or something.Too bad they use the term Guarantee. It just leads to unrealistic expections and extra harassment to the seller. Maybe they should have a disclaimer. Like.. All delivery dates, even "Guaranteed" are subject to change. SO , then Y even use term GUARANTEED!! Its a joke. As a seller, I have seen these dates change too and just another reason use caution.

this happens to me ALL THE TIME on ebay, frequently on amazon, and just now happened on Walmart. In each case the site knows my zip code. i think ebay is the only one that says "guaranteed" and then changes it, though.
