Recently the USPS changed the time for packages over 1Lb to HI using ground advantage.
It’s has been a few years since the inception of ground advantage that was the brainchild of Mr DeJoy
USPS ground advantage is the cheapest service to HI, however since the increase of larger packages due to many many items being shipped to HI while HI rebuilds from the Maui fire, it currently takes 4-6 weeks for packages over 1 lb to get to HI. We were originally expecting 10 days but that is now 28-42 days. eBay sellers are plagued with neutral and negative feedback from customers in HI. This is the least expensive shipping and it is chosen by the buyer. It isn’t fair when buyers who know the length of time blame eBay sellers when it is the situation and increase in larger packages that are causing this extended shipping time.
The real problem is eBay as they have not alerted buyers of the time and still use 10 days as the shipping estimate (the fault if Pitney Bowes who eBay uses that tracking system) someone at eBay needs to wake up and correct shipping estimated times and protect sellers from something that is certainly not their fault.
Neutral and Negative feedback for shipping time is ridiculous as the buyer chooses shipping and almost always picks the cheapest service.

Yes, it would make sense if there was a mechanism to help with these types of delays in shipping. However, if you know it, I suggest messaging the buyers before sending the items so they can be prepared for delays. Most buyers in those areas would understand and empathize but some may not.
