How to purchase an item as a customer through the ebay global shipping programme.
What is the GSP? - You purchase an item from a seller internationally, they forward the parcel to an ebay shipping centre and then ebay handle the delivery of the parcel to yourself.
Here is a quick purchasing guide if you are looking to purchase an item through the global shipping programme from a seller not in your country.
Note: You must be in your own countries version of ebay when looking at an item, for example; There is a product in the UK you want to purchase that is GSP enabled, do not view the item on ebay.co.uk if you are not from the UK, for example if you are in the US remain on ebay.com.
Once you have found the listing you want to purchase you should automatically see the postage of the GSP, however if you cannot see them, then follow these steps:
#1 Click 'See Details' next to postage information.
#2 Choose your country from the drop down menu#3 Once you have selected your country, click 'Get Rates' this will now show the GSP postage charge to your location.
#4 Postage has now been applied to the listing and you can add the parcel to your basket and proceed to purchasing.
We hope this short guide will aid some customers to purchase through the global shipping programme.
Thank you.

I am glad you are making sales, many people can save real dollars by buying from a direct shipper. You appear to be doing a good business and I just have to say that I also sell international. My sales are 30 percent foreign. If I were to enroll in the gsp they woud stop.selling with GSP is like having a large banner that says I am not a serious seller.its you way of saying shop here if you want to pay taxes on an oil filter.
I will only ship to the edelcon countries with free tracking.I am unsure what type of cheap shipping you have with tracking but here in the USA there is no real reason to use the GSP if you ship smaller items.

Hello,
This is just a guide for customers who would like to understand how to make a purchase through the global shipping programme. From our experience many customers are unaware how they actually use the service, if you search GSP on Google you will only find information for sellers. So hopefully this guide will help a few customers and it is also convenient for ourselves as we can link our own customers to this thread quickly.
Thank you

Ituna,
You are SO right - for small items eDelcon is definitely the way to go. I am in Australia and it is so frustrating to see the GSP used for a USPS First Class International with eDelcon suitable item.
What really needs to be said about the GSP is how bad can be.....and why. I can only guess that some sellers don't provide all the info on an item required to use the GSP efficiently, to explain why buyers are confronted with GSP charges of anywhere from $30 to nearly $70 for the same item. That's just the tip of the iceberg of issues I've had with this so called priority service. It is dodgy to the extreme.

This thread is a guide for customers only, it is not a thread of discussion on your own personal views of the global shipping programme.
The global shipping programme is an efficient service that helps start ups with international sales. We use the global shipping programme for all of our international sales as we are focused on our current domestic market. The GSP allows us to accept international orders without us having to put much time into it.
Whether you like the service or not we would ask this does not become an extensive thread on personal views.
He have put this how to guide up so we can inform our customers and others on how to use the service.
Thank you.

To the best of my knowledge, the SELLER makes the decision as to whether or not to use the GSP for international purchases, not the buyer. At least that's how it works on the US site.

The GSP is just an option, ultimately a customer decides whether or not they want to purchase the product using this service being offered. We can either post directly to the customer overseas or use the GSP service and the customer can decide what they would rather. However at the moment we are only offering international postage through the GSP. Again though it remains up to the customer if they want to purchase any of our products.
Thank you.
