I have almost 200 listings; I have variations on all of them, but that's just an aside.
I had them all set up to use the Global Shipping Program with a shipping cost type of calculated shipping and a combined shipping rule applied.
Everything was going well until I received a message from a buyer in Ireland who was questioning a shipping rate of over $200. When I went to check, I saw that both the shipping cost type & combined shipping rule was gone.
I'm nervous about the option just disappearing, but am now more concerned with how to get everything back to what it should be.
I can revise each listing individually to put back the calculated shipping cost/combined shipping, but can not do a bulk edit. If GSP is the only international shipping method, it won't prompt for any other options.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks for any help or pointers (and by the way, you may want to do a spot check of your GSP options just to make sure they're in order)!

You have never been able to specify combined shipping for the global shipping program. The GSP will combine import fees and shipping cost for the international portion of the trip. But the buyer will pay the full shipping cost on each item for the domestic portion. If you want to give them combined shipping for the domestic portion you would have to make a special listing with those items.

Thanks for the quick reply. I sell magazines and use variations to allow buyers to buy multiple issues in the years and months they’re looking for.
So, if I understand correctly, if an international buyer buys 12 magazines from one of my ads, they would be charged 12 times the shipping?
Secondly, currently if I revise an individual ad, I can specify calculated shipping and combined shipping without error under GSP international shipping options. Shouldn’t it be giving me an error?
not trying to whine about eBay rules, just trying to understand. Thanks.

The GSP was set up as a Seller Protection system and offers little to the buyer, except the ability to order from US or UK sellers who are nervous of shipping overseas.
So.
Yes to the first question. PJ has the only answer for combined orders.
And it's not uncommon for programmers who do not actually use their programs not to understand some of the more esoteric needs of the real users, especially if the bright sparks instructing them don't use the programs either.

Yes if they bought 12 items from 12 different listings they would be charged 12 times for shipping to Kentucky. (the domestic portion)
The part that is charged by the GSP would be somewhat combined if the buyer used the cart and purchased all items at once.

You would think so but the shipping section tends to let you do a few different things without an error message even if what you did won’t work.

I think you answered my question, but just to be clear on my example, the 12 magazines were purchased off the same listing, just with different variations, eg the might buy January and February and March issues —all from the same listing. Your reply indicated that they would have been from different listings.

The GSP will charge individual shipping for each magazine they purchase. As explained, that is how that service is set up, there is no way around it. What you can do for your buyer is to create a new listing with all 12 magazines in the same transaction. Then you can pack them up, get correct shipping size/weight, and list it for that buyer to purchase. It is the only way for your buyer to only paying one time for shipping, using the GSP program. I've done it this way for Int'l buyers, and they are very grateful for the savings, which usually means they come back for more. Best of luck to you....
