I just realized that some of my listings have a guaranteed shipping date, been trying to get rid of it but can't. I for one don't like to guarantee anything that I have no control over especially with shipping. This is nothing but a can of worms waiting to blow up. I am with MP if this matters any. If someone has an idea on how to get out of this please help me.
Thanks in advance.

Other than extending your handling time or charging for shipping, there isn't anything that you can do to change it. Any fast and free listings will have a guaranteed date and if it doesn't arrive by that date, the buyer can apply for a voucher or a free return label....both paid by ebay. Here is the announcement...

You might want to try going into your account settings and un-check the box.

I've been all over and finally found where it is. While your making the listing for your item it is in the shipping section with a check mark looks like default from ebay, can't remove it. This is taking control to a whole new level.

I'm pretty sure that eBay calculates the guaranteed delivery date based on your shipping performance ... if that is true, then the only way to remove those guarantees from your listings is to become undependable and erratic with your shipping. Sure, you might get late shipping dings and some slow shipper metric dings, but I'm guessing you'll suddenly see these guarantees disappear.

If you get to many ebay most likely will warn or suspend you from selling.

Hey the Guaranteed Delivery (GD) program is a huge Win-Win for sellers! eBay runs the program and pays out if there is a problem, PLUS it attracts buyers! So to do something to avoid this program doesn't makes sense.
So if there is something about the program you don't understand, perhaps we can help? I know if you google it there is a bunch of mis-information around. We saw plenty of people see all kinds of trouble when it was first expanded, most of which is uninformed knee-jerk reaction.
So take some time to truly understand the program and I think you'll like it!
