Free shipping invalid address question

I have another question. I just had an incorrect address package returned to me and the buyer paying me money to reship. I have some small items that offer free shipping - if those items are returned because of an invalid address am I in the right to charge the buyer additional money for that or do I have to eat that cost? Luckily that situation with free shipping items hasn't happened yet but I want to be prepared in case it does. If I have to eat the cost then that's just another reason to not offer free shipping on stuff.

When an item is returned to sender as undeliverable the buyers MBG is void and the seller is under NO obligation to reship or even refund.

Many experienced sellers would handle this by refunding the original item MINUS fees and shipping (if free shipping was used, deduct what it cost you). Then relist the item and have the buyer repurchase after correcting their address.
