Hey all,
I haven't been around in awhile... but started selling again. A buyer wants to return a brand new jacket... and said there are "loose thread, wants to return" which... whatever. That's fine. I'm trying to accept the return, but it prompts me to pay for a shipping label! So, I am being forced to pay a $8 in return shipping?! I'm so confused. I've never had to do this. On all my listings I say that due to the nature of my items, I require the buyer to pay for return shipping.
Can I message the buyer that once I receive the item, I will deduct the shipping cost from the refund total? 😕 I don't know what to do.

Buyer pays return shipping only for remorse.... changed mind, don't like, does not fit...
On "Not as Described".... seller pays for return.

Unfortunately eBay will side with the buyer and you will have to pay! I have no returns but every seller knows that means nothing in the land of eBay! Paying for shipping blows, but if they file a case and you don’t pay for shipping they get to keep the item and get their money back!

I would agree since I just had a remorse return that the bidder file not as described. Really? On a certified coin with clear and magnified photos? I would agree with what you stated. I don't mind paying the return but again when it is clear especially in my case on a certified coin, there is no question that the only thing it could be is a remorse return. Just block the bidder as this is the only way to weed them out from continuing to cost you money not to mention the Paypal fee if that's how they paid. Good luck!

When the buyer files an INAD, you pay return shipping and give the buyer a full refund once something is returned.
Accept the return and have Ebay send them a label.
If you don't and the buyer ask Ebay to step in, they could refund buyer from your Pay Pal account and let them keep the item.

WHAT! Ebay goes and pays them full refund from MY PAYPAL AND they get to keep the item?! Am I hearing this correctly?!
Ugh. That's what I was afraid of. So if I send them a shipping label, can they still "get eBay to step in"???
I'd rather eat the $8 than allowing them to keep the item and ebay taking out the $60 from my paypal!!!
I'm feeling scammed.

If you send the label you’re fine! They have a certain amount of days to utilize the label. But yes, you heard me correctly! There are a lot of buyers/scammers that know ebays way of doing business and they know how to work it!

Ok, thank you! I've sent the label, and I sent an overly friendly message to the buyer letting them know that they should now find the label in their email for their convenience. Then I gagged.
Thank you for your help.

Yep!! I hear you!

When someone goes to return an item, I wonder if eBay uses the INAD as the default selection. The last time I returned an item from eBay I paid for my own shipping label and was glad to do so since I simply changed my mind on it.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like they're abusing the INAD!! Wow.

Yes, they can and they have.
When a buyer files an INAD and you refuse to accept the return, they can.

That would be a remorse return and the buyer would pay return shipping, unless the seller offers free returns.

I just returned an item - I ordered a loveseat slipcover and the seller sent me one for a chair. The options presented to me were buyer's remorse ones first.

Wow. Ebay doing some dirty business themselves.
I've heard some eBay horror stories, so I shouldn't be complaining too much over a little shipping label. But, $8 to me, is a can of coffee out the window. 😞
