This week all of my FC items are defaulting to priority shipping when I go to print the label. These are all small items, small envelopes weighing no more than 4oz. I rarely sell anything higher than 10oz and always list and use first class. Now I have to stop and go slowly through the shipping label page as it is automatically defaulting to priority. It is time consuming and highly annoying. Every single one of my sold listings are doing this.
Before anyone answers, I get that USPS is slow these days and eBay wants to "suggest" that all sellers use priority. However I don't use priority as it stops my sales because my items have little to no weight on them. My buyers would be paying too much for that service. It is never requested of me by any of my buyers.
It seems eBay has arbitrarily decided to default some sellers listings to priority without communicating that in advance. I haven't seen anything about it anywhere. I'm posting this both as a warning if you haven't noticed it and in case anyone knows any way to avoid this. I don't see any way to alter this from my end. Thank you....

UPDATE: Well I saw that this was brought up in the daily chat today, I missed it when it was live. It was addressed by two different eBay reps on the board. This seems to be another tech glitch that they are looking into. Hopefully to be resolved shortly....

@lamber9347 Yes, I saw your original post earlier today along with a number of others from earlier this week ... there have been ongoing issues with the new Label Flow and it is taking them too long to fix them. I posted about it on the Chat today and the other issues several weeks ago ... I suppose that if enough Sellers complain about it on the Weekly Chat maybe they will light a fire under the programmers' derrieres and get them moving ...

Glad to see I wasn't the only one experiencing this. I ship either First Class Package or Media Mail, so now I have to triple check to make sure I'm not sending priority accidentally...

They almost got me, the same thing happened and if I didn't notice I would have lost $7. 00 and change on a first class shipping item. Also keep an eye open for UPS and Fedex they are trying to sneak them in to. We all have to be diligent before we ship. What a joke.

It's been a couple of weeks for me and it is relentless. Good luck shipping.

@domin-tomas - Can you imagine going to a retail store that you frequently shop at with no issues. You are in line to pay for your items and suddenly the cashier starts ringing up a few items that somehow were thrown into your cart. If you weren't paying attention and notice them you'd end up paying for items you didn't ask for and not realize it until you arrived home or much later. Where would that be acceptable?

Honestly, it seems awfully well organised and coded to be a 'glitch' - I don't believe it. Maybe yet another poorly thought out initiative to 'assist the seller' that they're now trying to walk back.
This doesn't look like a glitch:

I've had the same problem.

Yes, exactly. It's disrespectful of the seller's time and potentially costly. The listing was sold with a specified method of shipping - full stop. The new default "suggestions" (I assume that's what's going on) are often 2X or 3X as costly, which indicates no understanding of how sellers operate.

Having the very same problem. Small 3 oz items set up for first class shipping are defaulting to Fedex next day air labels at around 57 bucks a shot....This **bleep** is crazy. It seems like every week it is something else making it harder for us the sellers who butter their bread to do our job of selling stuff and getting it out the door! It is bad enough that I have to wait almost a week to get my money from these clowns now they want to disrupt my perfect little shipping flow with added complications as well. When will this nonsense end!

The longer I've been on here, the more I've noticed a pattern: the "oopsies" and "glitches" never fall in sellers' favor. The house always wins.

I have been having the same problem except I ship a lot of times with FedEx ground so now it comes up overnight which you all know is 10 times the cost so I can't see this as being a glitch if it is they need to get new IT guy's because they have had quite a few this year next excuse will be blamed on the covid.

Not a glitch.
Mine's been doing it for a couple of months, just have to pay attention. It could be worse I suppose.
