First Class Mail

I'm shipping a sticker in a letter size envelope. I didn't know how to set that up on the listing. Now ebay wants to generate a shipping label for $2.63 when all I need is a is a first class stamp? I don't want to use that label so how do I cancel it? I have not purchased it yet. Is there something I can do in the listing so I don't have this problem again?

First, make sure you have an extra 55 cents added into your selling price to cover the coast of the stamp. Then, when you go to list the item you have a choice of “flat rate - same cost to everyone” (select this one) OR “calculated shipping depending on buyer’s location (skip this one).

Then, click the little box that says “free shipping” and select “standard shipping” as your shipping method. DO NOT select “first class” as most will assume that means a package with tracking.

BUT

Without a tracking number the buyer can easily say they never got it and you will have to give a refund. If the stickers are inexpensive the risk of a fraudulent claim is minimal. If the stickers are expensive you are at great risk of loss.

As for the sale you have apparently already made. What did you show as a shipping method? If you showed First Class Package then you MUST buy and use the label to be honest to your seller. If you listed it as free shipping without any reference to a tracking number then do not buy the label (you will not be charged if you do not buy it) and use the stamp as you wish. But be aware of what the buyer expects and act accordingly otherwise the buyer may feel cheated.

You cannot buy a stamp on eBay.  If you need tracking then the least amount is First Class Mail.    I have purchased items on eBay that were mailed to me in an envelope.  There is no tracking, and  if it doesn't arrive the seller has to refund.
