Feedback extortion

Hi,

I inadvertently purchased an knock off product from an International seller who does not except returns.  The listing indicated that if unsatisfied for any reason I could contact them for a full refund within 30 days.  So I contacted them and explained the problem of the counterfiet item that had been marketed as legit.

First I get a terse apology and an offer of $3 refund (spent $20) since I had already left negative feedback.   The seller then said he would give me a full refund if I removed the feedback.  I direct copied the text from their Ebay listing about the full refund and explained why I would not remove the feedback.  Seller again responded that they would give a full refund only if I remove the feedback.

To me this feels like it should fall under feedback extortion.   Thoughts?

Go to the bottom of the page and click Resolution Center and select the item doesn't match description and do what it says to do.

Have a great day.

1-feedback is the LAST thing you do.

2-there is NO SUCH THING as no returns on eBay. If you get something that doesn't match the description, the seller MUST refund, and MUST pay to return it to themselves. You need to learn about the MBG.

3-YES, this is feedback extortion. Don't give in to it. But next time, wait to leave it until the last possible moment. Now-do what was mentioned and file to get your money back, ALL of your money back and the seller will HAVE TO pay to get it back or give you a FULL refund of everything you paid. Accept nothing less.

In case that wasn't clear - go to the Resolution Center and open an Item Not As Described case.  Follow the eBay procedure, and you will get a full refund, one way or the other.  If the seller doesn't send you a return label, then ask ebay to step in after the allotted time, and they will either send you a label themselves or just issue the refund without a return (their choice, not yours).

As others have said, file an item as not described through ebay. Sellers are responsible for paying for return shipping but since this one is not in the US, he won't be able to send you a label.  You can tell him how much the label will be(make sure you use a service with delivery confirmation to that country) and they can send you money through Paypal for the label. If they don't send you the money, you can ask ebay to step in after a certain number of days. Do not buy the label yourself as ebay has no way of requiring the seller to repay you.

Which country is the seller in? If you can tell us that, someone here can let you know which service you should use to send the item back.
