In September, I shipped an unframed art print, i.e. a piece of paper via Fedex. Label charge should have been $13.80, I was charged $142.29 on my Ebay invoice. Fedex is showing the dimensions as 54x39x3, when in fact the dimensions were 18x14x1, but Fedex does not check dimensions when you give them a package to ship.
I was told to wait 2 billing cycles to see if EBay could get this corrected with Fedex.
Needless to say, no money has appeared. As far as I can tell, I have no recourse but to post complaints to every website, government agency and anyone else I can find and recommend to all, DO NOT USE FEDEX.
With the amount of packages shipped via Fedex through Ebay I would think they could recover my money. At the very least they should consider doing away with Fedex as a shipper; I ended up paying $142.29 to ship a $200.00 piece of paper.

Hi @cvillesales2012, you may find the information in our Knowledge Base article about FedEx labels to be helpful. The initial price shown to you is an estimate, and FedEx will make adjustments as necessary before the final amount is applied to your invoice. If you feel that this total is inaccurate, you can contact Customer Service for assistance in disputing these charges.

Thank you for your reply Trinton.
I spoke with customer service on two occasions, they sent me the identical letter twice stating the dispute was denied.
I have worked with several people on your Facebook page, still waiting to hear from Eric.
This has been ongoing for months.
For your info:
I shipped an unframed art print, that is a piece of paper.
The parcel was 18 inches by 14 inches by 1 inch.
It weighed 1 pound 4 ounces.
Fedex is charging me for 54 inches by 39 inches by 3 inches, with a bill weight of 90 pounds.
I have a copy of the original label, the receipt from Fedex, and of course the record of the sale on EBay, which I provided to EBay
This is not a dimensional weight issue, it is not an error on my part, it isn't even the shipping calculator at fault. I was charged $142.29 to ship a piece of paper with the above dimensions and weight. Shipping estimate on parcel was $13.80.
So I continue my crusade to get the money back that Fedex cheated me out of, and I will continue to post and fight to that end, and there are several sellers dealing with the same issue.

Hi @cvillesales2012, thank you for the added detail. It sounds like the final decision has been communicated to you and that FedEx has responded to confirm the charges are valid. We are only able open a dispute on your behalf and would not be able to take any further steps once FedEx has confirmed the appropriate charges were assessed. I encourage you to review the information that has been provided by Customer Service and touch base with them again if you have further questions.

So even with clear cut facts on the issue, EBay stands with Fedex, on this case and apparently many, many others. And not only do you stand with them, you are now encouraging the use of this company. Have you even looked at all the complaints on this board, overcharges, lost packages, damaged packages, etc and your sellers have to take the loss. It is sad that two companies the size of EBay and Fedex continue to treat their sellers and customers so poorly, and take their money illegally.

IMO, eBay should ban FedEx from the site. There are just too many issues with the company.
Sure there are complaints with USPS and UPS too but FAR FEWER.
In my area (central Ohio) only around 50% of FedEx packages are delivered correctly and in good condition.
I have very little experience with SHIPPING FedEx. 3 packages, all pre-paid, NON arrived at the destination.
#1 I dropped of in a FedEx drop box
#2 I called for a pick-up (cost me $11.45)
#3 I went to the Verizon store and talked to the manager. He took the package and PERSONALLY handed it to the FedEx carrier.
These were all cell phones being sent to the insurance company. Even though I saw #2 being scanned there was no tracking ever produced.

This is a disservice to Sellers. We are NOT talking about chump change here. I love buying heavy stuff. Many of the things I used to buy are no longer available now. The main reason is because of high postage. I don’t think I am the only one that is missing large heavy items.
This is a perfect storm to rip Sellers and buyers off. UPS say the item weighed 150 and was much larger than the package actually was. eBay makes money buy charging a 10% fee on shipping. Why would eBay even be inclined to help a Seller with this problem. In some of the examples above we are talking $10-20 more eBay FVF just For the shipping.
( shakes head.) another way to shake down Sellers.

I agree, Fedex should be banned as long as they continue to cheat sellers out of money and have a high rate of damaged or lost parcels. Ebay, as usual, must see otherwise, now happily offering Fedex with lower rates. Guess Fedex can discount as long as they can subsidize the loss of revenue by overcharging many of us, and Ebay enjoys FVF on the overcharges. I see another large company, (guess who), banned use of Fedex, glad to see someone recognizes **bleep** service!

That's an interesting question - does ebay charge fees on the overcharges that come in later?
I don't think they would.

This is an official warning for a violation of Business Ethics. The Mods and Services reps make posts that are unethical, because they have been told by people that do not care about them. Mods and services reps should stand up for people. Topics and posts are always duplicative delayed tactics that they are told to say. Do not drink the koolaid.

What about bringing this to the Attorney General's Office in your state? This is racketeering. There's no other name for it.

They ended up siding with FedEx on that?!?!? WOW. Is there seriously NO SELLER PROTECTION on eBay?!?? Have you also disputed this with your credit card company? That is an incorrect charge, and you have the documentation to back it up I'm sure. I am still awaiting the results of my dispute. I was overcharged by almost $40 for FedEx shipping, which means I basically GAVE AWAY my item for free! And now, on another transaction, a buyer broke a perfectly good item and is trying to return it, even though my policy is NO returns (and I have photos in my listing to prove the item was not broken). If I end up losing more money on this new transaction, I am TOTALLY DONE with eBay. As in closing my account for good (after being "Above Standard" seller for 20 years). I am making more on garage sales than on here (especially when you take into account that sellers are allowed to get ripped off by buyers -- and FedEx on here)! At least on craigslist people don't break your stuff then try to return it! LOL

I was just charged a total of $112 to ship a pair of shoes! The claimed "Billing Weight" was 21 pounds for a box that actually weighed 6 pounds.
With the many years of these blatant ripoffs by FedEx (search the forums) and Ebay's obviously complicit behavior by ignoring and denying valid claims, I can pretty much guarantee there is going to be a class action filed. Unfortunately with this bleeping virus going around it may be awhile before it gets done.

I just discovered the same as my EBAY invoice almost doubled. I just got done printing a years worth of EBAY invoices with Fed Ex overcharges. I shipped an item that weighed 13.5 lb's they charged me for 76 lb's. Another was a leather jacket that the label cost me $14.50 but they charged me $78 dollars. There is one for a Ralph Lauren Comforter they have it at 36 lb's? Who is using a 36 pound blanket? In total I am looking at at least a few thousand dollars.
