FedEx Delayed Package Refund Request

I have a package that was mysteriously held up in the FedEx system for 10+ days before it started showing up in tracking again and eventually delivered. FedEx has a delivery guarantee / refund request process, but it requires you to know the invoice number. Since I created this label with eBay, I do not have the invoice  number and I am not even sure how eBay would handle the refund if they are the ones to receive it!

Any prior experience with the same situation?

FedEx Delayed Package Refund Request

eBay has order numbers and item numbers on all sales, so you can use either or both, but it is the tracking number that is the pertinent info for a FedEx claim thru their website.

if the package was delivered, then why do you want a refund?

did the buyer open a refund request b4 it was delivered and then receive that refund?

FedEx Delayed Package Refund Request

I still have this question to-date. I purchased my FedEx Home Delivery label through eBay’s label/shipping services upon order fulfillment—instead of paying directly through my company FedEx account at FedEx.com. Therefore, it doesn’t appear in the shipment history on my FedEx account. And as a result of that, it’s not possible to file a DISPUTE to request a refund of shipping/ancillary fees.

That’s because to request a refund, you must first select the FedEx invoice number (as appears in the FedEx Ship Manager [business portal, not Delivery Manager])  to expand all shipments (by label number) on that invoice. Then, you drill down and click the tracking number in question. Finally, the seller (only if purchased on his/her own account) can dispute the amount charged for that invoice for late delivery.

Except for Ground Economy, ALL FX services are date-definite and guaranteed.

Has anybody found a way to do this? I called eBay this morning since my package is now 2 days beyond its scheduled delivery commitment, and that rep was uncertain.  He took my info and made a general refund request of eBay fees (instead of just the shipment fee), but he strongly referred me to FedEx directly for the refund of the label fee.

Big headache. Usually, I just print my labels from FedEx.com directly, and I’ll go back to doing that because of this kind of problem.
