FEDEX "exception"

Hello ,

I sold a $200 item and shipped fedex. Never had any issues. I noticed a stop after delivery it said label damaged, new label put on. It continued  on for more stops until it got to destination facility. At this point already late. Then it said exception, couldn't deliver on this tracking, multiple labels present. I called FedEx and said they were going to try to put another label on. They did, and then following day same error.

I called fedex again and after being routed, the lady told me that it is showing as a loop because they are trying to print a new label but don't have authorization to do so. I would need ebay to call fedex and have them verify sender and receiver address since they are the account holder of the label. 

I called ebay, and they were a bit confused. The man in other line said he would try and call fedex tomorrow.

Am I protected at all from ebay side? I know the $100 from fedex. Best case it delivers, worst it's lost, mid ground it's returned. Has this happened to anyone else and if so, how was it handled/outcome?

Any advice?

So far buyer has not said anything  threatening and has thanks me for me calling ebay and fedex.

Update: I called ebay back and asked if there was follow up with fedex. They escalated me to their logistics department. I got an email asking for all the details (as I explained above). They wrote back and said they will not be reaching out to fedex due to security concerns. They said they validated my information (Sellers address, ect) was correct. They asked me to forward to fedex.

I called fedex back and explained, but rep on line said the case was already assigned to someone and that they would have that person call me back.

No ownership here it seems. I am sure if I ask to have them "return" to sender then they will either say they can't for security concerns or end up going in same loop where I live.

Not sure exactly what you can do. Try to contact ebay via facebook.

Also for future fedEx shipments you should open your own FedEx account that way you will be the shipper on record. Don't go through ebay. Just supply the tracking info on the purchase.
