Hello, I am new here and just shipped out my first item; the buyer paid for shipping. I paid for the label, which I know gets reimbursed by them, but when I went to the post office I paid $2 to ship it out (I know now that I can do it free with USPS pickup, but didn't know then). Since the buyer is paying, is there a way to get this (and any other shipping charges that may come up at the post office) reimbursed? Is there a way to add this to the buyer's charge, or should I call eBay and ask?
Thanks!

You can Not charge a buyer more money after the sale is complete and paid for. The seller states in the listing the price AND shipping fee. If the buyer agrees to the Total cost and purchases you ship as stated.
If you did not charge enough that is on you. If you did not print an online label and paid counter rates at the post office that is on you again to absorb the cost.
Charging that much postage for a mug is also a lot (showed $13 to me) and then paid $2 more is extreme.
USPS top loading Rate A is great for mugs. You can wrap it and use cardboard or another small box around it and weight doesnt matter as long as less than 20 lbs.
So it can be over 2 lbs, its wrapped very securely to prevent breakage and costs approx $.10-$.60 more than 2 lb rate depending on zone.
Once you get good at packing and use your own box that's option to pay 2 lb rate and save if appropriate.

Are you saying that you purchased and printed a label from eBay, and you were then charged an additional fee at the Post Office? What was the additional charge for?

There is no way to pass along more postage charges to the buyer after the transaction. It is the seller's responsibility to know how much to charge in the listing.
The label that you purchased does not get "reimbursed" by the buyer. The buyer's full payment for the item plus shipping and handling is one payment that already went into your account to use as you wish. There is no going back.
Like the other posters, I am curious about what you paid the extra $2 for.

I see now you had a thick hardcover book sold with $7.93 media mail charge. That would cover the cost of postage. If you went to the post office and didnt have a box and used a free priority box USPS had there then the book mails priority. That rate is higher and often by quite a bit than media. It might help to learn and read or watch on u tube info on mailing on ebay
