Did you mean:

Every time I try to list an item, it say that the weight is invalid.

I am having trouble listing an item. I have always used my templates.  Now (August was fine) when I enter the weight and measurement of the box I am shipping I get a message that the weight is invalid.  Nothing fixes it except to save it as a draft, close everything and then go back and enter the weight from the bulk editor. Then the listing goes up fine.   Too many steps, what's going on?

thanks

I had thought of accepting the suggested weight and measurements but since it adversely affects my listing, I decided not to do it....I would rather not post something that is wrong.

I will continue to save it as a draft, go back and open the draft.  It then takes me to bulk listing where I can edit the draft, enter the weight and dimensions as I normally have and then the system accepts and lists without a problem.  One thing I did notice when I put the dimensions in under bulk listings,  I entered a 7 for the dimensions which is in inches.  The system automatically changed my 7 to 7.0 inches.  When I list again, I will try entering 7.0 on my template.

OK, but like any other listing, if you make a mistake on it [even though this mistake is not of your making], you can go back into the listing and fix it.  It will cause you no harm to try it.  If you can't change it, simply close the listing.

I dont know why the form should be accepting values in decimal (7.0) when the USPS rounds the value anyway.

Im wondering if maybe there is a 0 value getting left out - such as 3 pounds 0 ounces but the 0 is not actually going into the form from the template? Also does the template date back to the previous listing form? Maybe values are being uploaded in the wrong order for the latest form. I noticed changes in the Shipping area where I think some values that had to go in a submenu in the past are now accessible on the main page.

Re: Every time I try to list an item, it say that the weight is invalid.

I tried entering on both the old template and the new template that I created yesterday a 0 for the box asking for oz.  In other words 3 in the box for lb and 0 in box for oz.  It didn't work.  I will be listing again today and I will try listing 7.0 for inches.

Yes, previously, all of this information was entered on a submenu.  Now it is available on the main page.

I don't know what happened but comment now states "solved".  Not sure how that happened but it isn't solved.

Re: Every time I try to list an item, it say that the weight is invalid.

Finally, the issue has been resolved.  I started another new template and I was successful in listing my item without any glitches.  Evidently, my templates were no longer working even though I last used them in August.  One thing I did with this one was to make sure I chose "calculated shipping" at the template level.  On the old template I had to select it which I don't recall having to do before.  All's well that ends well.

That looks like a clue that the older template was presenting values in an order that the newer form did not expect. Glad to hear that you got it worked out.
