I am having trouble listing an item. I have always used my templates. Now (August was fine) when I enter the weight and measurement of the box I am shipping I get a message that the weight is invalid. Nothing fixes it except to save it as a draft, close everything and then go back and enter the weight from the bulk editor. Then the listing goes up fine. Too many steps, what's going on?
thanks

I dont know why the form should be accepting values in decimal (7.0) when the USPS rounds the value anyway.
Im wondering if maybe there is a 0 value getting left out - such as 3 pounds 0 ounces but the 0 is not actually going into the form from the template? Also does the template date back to the previous listing form? Maybe values are being uploaded in the wrong order for the latest form. I noticed changes in the Shipping area where I think some values that had to go in a submenu in the past are now accessible on the main page.

Unless you give us the FULL information we can not answer,
What size box?
What weight? EXACTLY as you entered it.
What shipping service?

Are you sure the weight/dimensions are within the limits of the selected shipping option?
Are you using Flat Rate shipping or Calculated shipping?

I am using calculated shipping. The process is obviously new as it has a different format than it did in August. It is now making a suggestion? as to what the weight and measurements of the package should be. The weight they were suggesting was a pound over what I was going to charge. So I entered my weight and my dimensions and when I hit list, it came back as invalid weight.
The weight was 3 lbs and the dimensions were 7x7x4. Shipping was either USPS Priority or UPS ground. I don't know how this could be outside the limits.

The weight was 3 lbs and the dimensions were 7"x7"x4". Shipping choice was either USPS Priority or UPS ground. Calculated shipping was chosen. Another listing was 6 lbs. dimensions were 15"x12"x4". Both times I noticed that there was a suggested weight and measurement for my item and both times it didn't equal my weight or my dimensions.

The new shipping system has so many problems it's hard to even comment on what's going on. Certainly your size and weight would be ok, unless you had chosen USPS First Class, which has a 1 pound limit.
One thing for sure, never use ebay's estimates, that can really get you in trouble.
Shipping USPS through ebay is still safe and quoted correctly, but as always shipping ebay UPS or FedEx is still unpredictable and can stick you with surprise charges and no easy way to fix even the simplest problem.

Thank you for your points. I've been keeping an eye on UPS and so far no problems. My items rarely are over 10 lbs. and not oversize boxes. I am ready to list another item and I will make sure this time that it doesn't say "USPS First Class". That wouldn't explain why once I did an edit on bulk listed, that it listed fine. Just another challenge.

I am definitely using USPS Priority as follows (copy paste)
USPS Priority Mail1 - 4 business days1 to 4 business daysBuyer pays
I'll try it one more time and then I am going to create a new template and see if that is the problem.

Come back and let us know if the template redo fixed it.
For great discounts and more features with no problems for UPS and USPS, take a look at free PirateShip, which directly integrates with ebay.

I just made a new template and tried to list the item.....same think happened as yesterday with the old template. So that was not a fix. I will just have to keep listing the way I was yesterday and hope that it gets fixed. The following is the message I get (even though I have filled in the weight and measurements and selected calculated shipping. Everything seems fine until I click on "list" and that is when the message comes up in red.
The package weight is not valid or is missing. Provide a valid number for the weight.

BTY, I googled this issue (it is faster) and there were Ebay messages back in 2012 and 2016 where sellers were having the same problem....

Have you tried accepting whatever the system is suggesting, post the listing and then go back and revise the listing. I realize this is more work, I'm just curious if this will work.
Let us know if that works.
Also as the moderators to move your thread to the Technical board.

@mam98031Have any ideas about this problem?
Thank you for the tag. This is not a problem I've seen before, but if they have recently messed with the calculated shipping program, it is very possible there have been some side effects. I did post a recommendation to the seller. Let's see if that works. Certainly not a fix but would enable them to get some listings posted while Ebay fixes this issue as clearly it is an Ebay OOPS!

I had thought of accepting the suggested weight and measurements but since it adversely affects my listing, I decided not to do it....I would rather not post something that is wrong.
I will continue to save it as a draft, go back and open the draft. It then takes me to bulk listing where I can edit the draft, enter the weight and dimensions as I normally have and then the system accepts and lists without a problem. One thing I did notice when I put the dimensions in under bulk listings, I entered a 7 for the dimensions which is in inches. The system automatically changed my 7 to 7.0 inches. When I list again, I will try entering 7.0 on my template.
