At the last Wednesday Chat I brought up this 'estimated' delivery time thing once again.
brian@ebay answered me.
The historical shipping data is still taken into account. If you have a 2 or 3 day handling time but typically ship within 1 business day then 1 business day is what the delivery estimation will be based on. If you typically ship in 2 or 3 days then that is what will be used when estimating the delivery date. Ultimately, the historical timeframes of when a seller actually ships items will be used to calculate the delivery estimation.
I still have many questions as to why ebay is setting me up like this. I've been Stuck in the house for 3 weeks and I am getting more angry about this by the day.
Today I have an item that sold. It has two day handling time clearly in the listing. The estimated delivery is Tuesday. TUESDAY, which means that it is sold on Friday and IF I mail in in my handling time TUESDAY it will be late!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even if I ship it on Saturday it has a tough time getting there by Tuesday but ebay thinks they know better than me.. the seller.
No one has told the buyers that you are forcing ebay sellers to go out on SATURDAY to ship packages in order to maybe get there on time and no one is helping me with the refunds I have to make because the items miss delivery estimates.
Why should I have to ship on Saturday.. risk another day out in a Pandemic and mail packages even though I have set my listings to two days.
You said to tag you if I had more questions about this. This is costing me money. It is stressing me out. Even if I try to protect my business and myself, ebay is inserting themselves into my business in a way that is detrimental and dangerous.
Leave my handling times alone. If I need two days I need TWO DAYS> Why would you ignore that and put in unrealistic delivery estimates that set me up for failure. I
This needs to be escalated above the community team. Who has made these decisions that make sellers look bad?
Some of us need our ebay income. Do you understand what this is costing sellers.
And to note. I just got a call from the Detroit post office. They are sitting on packages and they estimate that it will be two weeks before things start moving. Their employees are calling in sick and not working. (I understand how bad it is there) They have nobody to even move the packages from the sorting hub to the local offices.
And you think it is ok to just randomly assign my handling time. It's unfair and unreasonable.
Who can we speak to and address this?

Hi @golfingaddict, thanks for providing more detail about your situation. The information I shared in the weekly chat is accurate. However, I looked into this further and found the example you brought up here. Based on the shipping service for that order it does sound like something that should be reported to our shipping team since it was sold today with an estimated delivery date on Tuesday. That seems like a faster estimate than is normal, so I've gone ahead and reported this. Thanks for the tag and additional details!

I don't know what you are looking at or what you have found as I sell on several users ID's. On two different accounts and two different orders, the screenshot shows what I see when I look at ORDER DETAILS. Buyer purchased on Friday April 10, the seller clearly indicates 2 day handling and yet, you show that I can ship it and have it delivered on the same day. These are for first class shipping. SO what happens in the middle of the pandemic I have to either 1. run to the post office several times a day to ship the second the order comes in. 2. Ship on Saturday which is not even a business day or 3. Have a late delivery because even if I ship it on Monday the chances of it arriving on Tuesday is IMPOSSIBLE. We need to escalate this issue to those in charge of ebay and seller experience. This is unacceptable.

Brian that is your standard answer that you have reported it to the "team'.
Why is there never any follow-up or resolution?
Especially when a seller like this may go away.

@golfingaddict To clarify, I can see your accounts and did find this example last week. I sent it over for review on Friday. I definitely understand the concern and I'll continue to monitor this. I'll let you know any new info I get about this. Thanks!

Hi @golfingaddict, I just wanted to give you an update and let you know that our tech team is reviewing your example. I don't have an update beyond this. We also just announced updated USPS estimated delivery times. You can read more about that here. Thanks!
