Anyone else having their packages "not received" by USPS? I drop it off at the counter at USPS(yes i know its best to stand in line and watch them personally scan them in) and I have had two packages in as many weeks never show up in their system. I was just wondering if any of you had this happen and did they eventually show up?

Media mail packages are seeing very long delays.
Depending on the region of the country, you might see any class of mail is getting congested due to facilities needing to close for disinfection, and/or staffing shortages. I haven't personally experienced it, but others have reported it ... particularly in and around New York City.

Yep, that happens. Typically you will eventually see a scan when it gets to the destination PO for delivery.

Yes, I have been experiencing the same thing on both a first class package and 2 media mails. I drop off my packages at a UPS Store a block away that is an authorized USPS shipper/receiver. They have at least 2 USPS pickups a day and I have found it faster than taking it to the post office.
The first class package was shipped on 4/10 and there was no status at all until this morning 4/17.
One of the media mails was shipped on 4/4 and another on 4/7 and neither has any status. Both of these customers have been disappointed but understanding.
Bizarrely, I mailed another media package on 4/13 and it is already in LA today (4/17). How it managed to catch a break, I'll never know.
So to answer your question, yes, I have had the same problem and the first class one gives some hope that they'll all eventually turn up and proceed to their destinations. But it would be nice if (1) the USPS website would acknowledge the delays instead of saying that deliveries are meeting their standards and (2) eBay would post something prominently about the potential for delays. I myself ordered something on eBay specifically from a seller very close (a suburb of Chicago near the airport); it has been way over a week and it hasn't been accepted by the USPS.

Yes, this is common for me, too. I'm in NYC and under ordinary circumstances about 90% of my packages that I drop off at the PO get acceptance scans overnight. The roughly 10% that don't get an acceptance scan receive a "Processed through facility" scan a few days later once they're closer to the destination. In the past this type of thing wouldn't ordinary delay delivery, since the packages would still make into the mailstream on time. They simply weren't receiving scans at my PO.
But for the past month or so only around 50% of my packages are getting acceptance scans. For the most part, the ones that do receive acceptance scans are all delivered within a couple days of the usual timeframe. But the rest just show "Pre-shipment". Most of them eventually get acceptance scans about 7 to 10 days later in my zip code and then get moving towards their destinations the following day. So far this is only happening to my First Class packages, but I assume it'll be the same with all classes of mail until the post offices here in NY get back to normal. Right now I have 10 packages I shipped on the 11th and 13th that haven't received any scans at all. It's frustrating because it makes it look like I haven't even shipped them yet. I worry that someone will open an INR on one of these delayed packages and I won't have any way to prove that I really did ship them on time.

ALWAYS get your packages scanned by a clerk and get a receipt. Better yet, get free delivery pickup and get the scans. For one thing, your items are not insured if they do not show an acceptance scan. And eBay does not see you as shipping your items until an acceptance scan shows. So it may take you a few more minutes by waiting in line, but you have to ask yourself is it worth it to not get them physically scanned before your eyes and have a receipt showing it? You took all of the trouble to list, sell, package and drive to the Post Office, what's a few more minutes to complete the process. Because if they don't get an acceptance scan, all of the other things you have done have been for nothing. Just my thoughts. Good luck!
