Ebay is not anything like it used to be and this is both the fault of Ebay and sad to say some Ebay members and I know I am not the only one who feels like this. The returns policy and system is really not upto a standard I would expect. If you make a decision it should take you to the next page and then ask for confirmation, not just accept it is what you intended to do with no way back. In this case the seller is penalised again and I am getting very close to just walking away from Ebay for good and using other means that are now out there.

Like if you already clicked Buy-It-Now and then you have second thoughts, eBay should forgive that you clicked Accept the Return and then remorsed.

What's your angle on this, seller or buyer ? As a seller, I fully agree. As a buyer, you just have to google ebay returns and the ground work for any type of ' return ' is clearly laid out for you.

This may be what you are talking about. I was researching accepting returns from a buyer. I didn't realize that I was on an "action" page. The button said continue. I clicked it expecting more information. But the screen said you have started the process to accept the return. Not "do you want to accept this return?" and no way to back out. I think the buyer has been notified which was not what I wanted to do. Guess I'll just got ahead and issue the refund.
Too bad. I used to have fun selling on ebay!

@knitter11, on this page of multiple choices, what should the Continue button say instead?Since the button must be appropriate for all choices, including the last choice, eBay might be assuming that we have some reading skills.

If you used PayPal, go thru PayPal for your refund. It is a lot easier and they have a longer return/refund policy. I tried to get a refund from Ebay but it was past the 30day return/refund date. PayPal offers 6month return/refund policy. I got my refund from PayPal.

Your response was to a sellerwho was talking about accepting a return from a buyer.
Here is the post you are responding to.

RE: The returns policy and system is really not upto a standard I would expect.
I agree with your statement. What irks me the most with returns is the following statement "The buyer requested a return because something is wrong with the item". Wrong with the item, really! Like what?
Having more information would be helpful to the seller in assessing the situation and resolving the issue with the buyer, perhaps without having to go through a return process.
