I shipped an item at the post office this morning and when I went to put the tracking number into eBay, I was given an error with the message "Tracking number added is already used for a different buyer". I've seen people run into this issue when they were trying to use the same tracking number for two different items, however this is the first time I am inputting this tracking number into eBay. It's a brand new number that I received from the post office this morning, and when I track the package using its number on the USPS website, it clearly gives the location for my package, not some other package that a different eBay seller has sent. Any ideas how I can resolve this issue?

This topic can be disregarded, the issue has been fixed.

Still a problem, for the first time for me today, and I have been doing it every few days for multiple items bought by the same buyer, especially when "combine shipments" doesn't let me click it.

Check @mfp9194 to see if your buyers have the same exact userID and that there isn't any difference (like one character off). If buyer used guest checkout they may have placed multiple orders to the same address, but since they were with different guest IDs the system won't let you combine.

You are right. They opened 2 accounts on the same day, October 16, with same exact usernames and addresses, but different accounts. Hmmm. Weird. Is that a possible scam method to get free stuff when only 1 item has a tracking #, so they can say the other never arrived?

They are probably buying as a guest so each time they buy the account will be different.

You can speculate, but unless they asked you to combine the order I would send each item as it was paid for. If each item had paid shipping the each item is shipped separately.
