Ebay standard envelope. Constantly getting it returned for "more postage".

Anyone else experiencing this issue? I've recently been getting more and more of the standard envelopes returned due to needing "more postage". I've received this in the past but it was just here and there, but it's gotten more ridiculous. There is no more postage that is needed.

I make sure my packaging is within the guidelines and have been for over a year. A card sleeve, a card saver (even more flexible than a top loader), and a team bag. Not any bigger than a piece of paper. Now for some reason i'm getting multiple sent back. What's even more ridiculous is that they've been sent back with a single card asking for more postage. It's literally the smallest and lightweight you can get and I overpay for the 2oz option. There's no way it's in need of more. Not sure if there's some new USPS worker who doesn't know how they work, or if something else is the issue.

Curious if others have the same problem.

As a seller who ships 10-15 orders per day (Stamps)  using this service,   I've had no issues.

Sounds to me like you have a clueless employee at your local PO.

Depends on some locations. My stuff makes it out of San Francisco. I had a return that had a post mark of San Francisco so it made it out but got returned somewhere before Montana. I just placed it in another envelope for .63 and it got to its location in Montana.

Sometimes the movement in the envelope can do it...in my case it did.

Under 1/4 " thickness and very bendable in a standard envelope....otherwise...it is a gamble.

Maybe not flexible enough.  I suggest  having your postmaster make a physical judgment of a sample item -- your card saver may be the culprit.

Good luck.

Been using ESE for about a year, with no returns until NOW! Same mailers, same labels, same rigidity, same thickness, etc. Now they are $0.40 Postage Due returns... which translates into "too rigid" or "not bendable"... my take is it is arbitrary and subjective at your local PO... which the Seller will always have to be wary of... it was good while it lasted!

I've sent out maybe a 1000 eBay Standard envelope packages and just recently I've been getting more returned.  In the past it would be one here and there.   I'm guessing it's new employees, but how do they test for too rigid?  It seems very subjective.   Definitely very frustrating lately.

Sometimes it's the staff, and sometimes it's the sorting machinery. If you're using top loaders, those are often too rigid and will result in items being kicked out as non-machinable. Envelope has to be flexible enough to wrap around an 11" drum at super high speeds.
