I gave into to a buyers request for a return, even though it was his mistake, because I read ebay always sides with buyers.
The process was held up for almost two weeks because he didn't send the item. He had until the 25th.
All of a sudden the case was closed in his favor with a full refund. I never receieved the items back. There was no tracking information provided to me. **bleep**?
I don't have an issue most the time just refunding. I did though have a case I closed today buyer claimed item wasn't as described or in photo. Yes it was. I'm extremely careful about my descriptions to every detail. Anyway, I got the item back took a photo and did the refund to prove it was selectively buyers remorse not as described. It's a little odd to me there's no where for me to attach the photo now. Let alone we can't contact eBay by phone. Any ideas here? Am I just at the buyer and ebAys mercy? eBay is just letting buyers say whatever they want. I had a previous item break and requested a photo but did an immediate refund; buyer left a negative and I never got the photo but even said she was refunded, crickets from eBay when I asked it be removed. It was my first negative , I guess it eventually happens idk we can't even talk to reps anymore. I'm very frustrated over being cut off from communicating.
This happened to me years ago on an expensive phone (~$500). The buyer was rude too and it seemed was aiming to be fraudulent to begin with. I've been afraid of selling any expensive items on eBay since. I just flat out lost $500--that was probably all the money I made in a whole year or selling some of my personal belongings on eBay!
Yes, you are correct you can't TALK with eBay as of recent, but you CAN communicate with them. Try FB or Twitter. Those seem to have better results than the average overseas CS rep.
Also, plan and budget for returns - it works for many and reduces the stress and shock when it happens.
