Ebay put wrong address on shipping label - The eBay Community
Hello,
I recently made 2 separate purchases from the same seller. The second purchase was a week later than the first. The address label seller printed up from ebay had the wrong address on it. The post office shipped both packages back to the seller. The seller then charged me for return shipping. Ebay is at fault here for not giving the seller the correct address that is listed in my ebay account as well as my paypal account. I can not get ebay to call me back. When I call ebay I am forwarded on and on to the point no one will pick up. Ebay set these transactions up to fail. I was never going to receive these items!! How can I get my shipping charges refunded from ebay?

Why not call the post master general of the post office in my area? 1-307-283-3939. Perhaps there are different requirements for different areas. Please don't argue with me and offer no solutions to my actual question.
The Postmaster General is in Washington, DC. You spoke to a plain old Postmaster. And they’re not always right.

Maybe they shouldn’t be.

I am not arguing with you
I am stating a fact.
There is absoluty no requirement to use the +4
All the +4 does is to enhance the sorting process. It is beneficial to some large mailers to use the +4 as they more of a discount with that coding.
The only solution to offer is for YOU to contact USPS customer service at 1-800-ASK-USPS to present your problem to them.
Since the introduction of the +4 zip code in 1983 it have never been, and still is not at this time required to be used.
As a carrier, clerk, and running 3 Post Offices I never returned a piece of mail for not having the +4 on the Zip Code.
The whole idea of that is absurd, and if the mail is being returned for that reason someone needs to be replaced.

Your postmaster is WRONG.
Why do I need to use a ZIP+4®?
"Note: Use of the 4-digit add-on is not mandatory other than for some types of business/automation discounted price." (from USPS.com)

I live not too far from you and I've got cousins who live in Sundance...it is not reqired. Your post master is full of it.
As for refunded shipping, eBay probably won't refund

While the USPS requires the five-digit ZIP Code for second- and third-class mail, it does not require you to use the ZIP +4. Business mailers primarily use the extra four digits for quicker processing. When prepared in a typed or computerized format, USPS automated scanners can read the codes when the mail is processed. Additionally, businesses can use bulk-mailing software to translate these nine-digit codes into bar codes the USPS uses for automated mail processing.
Using the ZIP+4 code reduces the chances of human error and incorrect delivery, as it cuts down on the number of human hands your mail must pass through to be delivered, according to the USPS. Additionally, usage of the ZIP+4 code, translated into bar code form, is part of the requirement for businesses to receive bulk mailing discount rates. While you generally do not need to know your own ZIP+4 code for personal reasons, you might need it in a few situations. Some ZIP code areas, for example, contain multiple Congressional districts, and the ZIP+4 code could facilitate a quick look-up to determine which district a certain address is in.
Printing an address clearly is more important than determining the nine-digit ZIP code to ensure quick and accurate mail delivery. When you send mail, post office workers feed it into a machine that automatically reads addresses and marks the mail with the corresponding bar code for that address regardless of whether you used the five- or nine-digit ZIP Code. If the machine cannot read the address, it sends it to a human worker for deciphering, which will delay your delivery. If you use the ZIP+4 Code, always include a hyphen after the fifth number, or your mail might be deemed undeliverable.

Ok so you got all that sorted out.
So you’re acknowledging that your Postmaster is wrong?

I don't know the answer to your question. I did just choose an item of ours awaiting shipment in which the zip code given by the buyer has the +4. At the shipping screen, however, the +4 is missing.
Could be because it's not mandatory according to the USPS and therefore not deemed necessary by the computerized system therefore defaults to what is necessary. ::shrugs::
