Ebay put wrong address on shipping label - The eBay Community

Hello,

I recently made 2 separate purchases from the same seller. The second purchase was a week later than the first. The address label seller printed up from ebay had the wrong address on it. The post office shipped both packages back to the seller. The seller then charged me for return shipping. Ebay is at fault here for not giving the seller the correct address that is listed in my ebay account as well as my paypal account. I can not get ebay to call me back. When I call ebay I am forwarded on and on to the point no one will pick up. Ebay set these transactions up to fail. I was never going to receive these items!! How can I get my shipping charges refunded from ebay?

They left off the 4 digits after the zip code.

Those zip code digits are not required.

There is some other reason for the packages to have been returned.

Those 4 digits ARE required. Post Master General at the USPS told me that was the exact reason why those packages were returned!!

If you were told by the Postmaster General at USPS those 4 digits are required, you were lied to. They are NOT required, although they are helpful.

I handled tousands of packages, and neither I, nor my co-workers, ever returned one for not having the + 4 on the Zip.

Edit: and to add to that. unless you are a PO box customer the +4 is not exclusive to you. It is a route segment code, and others on your street, or in your building will have the same +4

I dont belive that for one minute.

I never use my +4 and I get my mail just fine. So lets try this again, how did ebay get the wrong address? Was it an old address that you no longer use? An address you had a gift shipped to at one point?

must be livin' right out here in nj. / as a seller who uses ebay shipping & labels, quite often when i print a label the last extra 4 #'s are present. items have always been delivered a-ok. / are those last 4 numbers only needed on certain addresses maybe????

Perhaps the last 4 #'s are needed only in certain areas of the United States. But I can assure you they are required where I live!!
