Re: Ebay needs to add mandatory different return address option for sellers accounts

It has been well established I think on these boards that when a seller provides a return label to a buyer, they are (the seller) 100 percent on the hook for the return of that item.   As long as the buyer returns the items and gets an acceptance scan, they are covered.  It might require a phone call but I'd say that would be the biggest inconvenience.

Here is what I find though. Overseas Sellers will provide a bogus return address at times and item will never get back to them so you might lose the ris of item and money. You have to make sure you speak with knowledgeable paypal people too once item shows back to seller for them to issue refund and also file the paypal shipping refund. It does work though. I had to do it one time alread and they refunded my $32. My item was $300 though. The Seller gave a bogus return address but paypal can see and decide in my favor and I filed for the shipping refund and got it.

No, that is Paypal’s rule. With eBay it can take weeks to get this settled. As it did in my case.

Sellers don't issue return labels @creoleorchid for PayPal SNAD disputes, do they? The buyer must pay for the label, then could apply to PayPal for reimbursement to a limit.

That is correct. And the buyer just needs proof of shipping, not delivery or attempted delivery or waiting for pickup.

What is a Paypal rule?

Trinton has indicated on these boards multiple times that if a seller provides the return label to the buyer, that the seller is  100% responsible for the return of the item.  If there is no tracking beyond an acceptance scan or the package goes missing, that is too bad, the buyer still gets a refund.    So, in this case, the OP would be guaranteed a refund as long as they shipped it and got a scan.  Granted it might take longer to get the refund, but if ebay allows it (which they do), thats the way it goes.

Again, you are only obligated to return the item to the same country it shipped from. Anything other than that is considered item misrepresentation.

CALL EBAY if the seller is still trying to mess with you. Tell them you bought it from the US and you expect to return it to the US. Tell them you need a US RETURN ADDRESS, period.

I would just add, avoid eBay CSR on this one. Go through PayPal, they wont require an International return for a domestic delivery. Of course it's against the rules for eBay, but eBay and rules are not a good mix.
